For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

Yes I like lakeside.tel think it has great potential.

I also bought neverland.tel when the extension was first launched in March 2009 as I have always been a big Michael Jackson fan.

After was has happened it is so sad and was thinking of somehow making neverland.tel somewhere where people can pay a tribute.

I would like to do this as I know that neverland was always a big part of his life, or do you think that this may be a bad idea.

Is this a good idea do you think or should I just leave my own personal message.

My directory teltheworld.co.uk is also under construction now and will hopefully be launched in the next week or so.

No im not on any self promotion at all.

Im really not bothered about selling any of my .tel domains to be honest.

I really like th extension and just wish there were more people out there who felt the same way. I am building a small directory which will be free for everyone with a .tel domain.

I hope there will be more people like myself in time that try and stay postive and really try to help make it work.

Im no web designer but it is looking ok.

Not quite sure what you mean by the neverland comment. I am just a huge fan of Michael Jackson and it was one of the first .tel I went for.

If anyone would really like to leave a tribute for the right reasons please pm or e-mail me.

I am not sure that I understand the issue Evdoxos.
I tested it on one my .tel domains and what I typed in TelHosting in "Label" appears as the 1st line on my .tel, then what I typed in "Organization" appears as the 2nd line, etc.

Isn't it what you want?

What is the way to do this?

It sounds like you're trying to 'bullet point' or 'line item' your information in this field. However, this is not possible as you will have to simply use 'line spaces' to separate or itemize your information.


However, if you're trying to get a given category like 'business information to show in a specific order like:

Keywords

Business Information

Name

Etc.


then you simply edit a given category and it will be automatically assigned to position 1. So that if you did edit the business information field, the new category order would be the following:

Business Information

Keywords

Name

Etc.

most of this thread is taken up with that very question. hate to say this (especially considering how long and often tiresome it is) but your best bet might be to set aside a month or so and read it. i'd hate to see that debate start up again.

the short answer to your question, however, seems to be that lots of people are trying lots of things (some of them quite interesting) but i think the jury is still out on whether anyone but telnic and registrars will make much money with tels. me, i bought some. i'll use a few as digital calling cards, for email addresses, to channel traffic to other sites, etc. then, if tels take off, i hope to sell the rest.

name.com seems to be the cheapest. $8.99 or thereabouts.

How do you plan to compete with the official .tel directory when it is released? It will presumably include all .tel's automatically, whereas yours requires user submissions. And we don't even know how much interest the official directory will get from the general public.

.tel seems to be bringing out all sorts of services with a questionable level of usefulness. .tel designers, SEO, paid appraisals, showcases, pay to join affiliate programs, etc... It seems like the miners are selling tools to one another with no source of gold to be found.

Its quite an easy one for me to answer to be honest.

I am not trying to compete with the major .tel directory that is due to be launched and would not even attempt to.

I like the .tel and have built the directory for anyone else that also owns one and would like to have the otions to

- have a free lisiting with unlimited amount of text - 100% free

- advertise there .tel for sale - 100% free

Yes you do have to fill a submission form which takes 2 mins max.

The way I look at things is the more directorys you are the more chance there is of people finding you.

With my jewellery business I am advertised in loads of direcotorys and get visits from all of them, some more than others. But if i was just in the main one I was lose thousands of visits each year from not being advertised in the others.

My directory is 100% free to advertise so its really up to the individual if they would like theres listed or not,

I really cannot see what anyone has to lose to take 2 mins to fill the form out and be listed in the directory.

You don't get much for free these days but still it may not be for everyone.
