Hi

For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

i would have to see performance first.

as at today, there is no timeframe for a product release. nor is there a price model being suggested.
give the companies a chance. busting *sses before anyone has even demo'd the offering is pathetic.

try before buy. works for my wallet.

I spoke with Monetelize.com directly and received a fee structure. However, they shielded that with "pre-release", and not set in stone, and nothing's final. At least that was my interpretation of my conversation. However, bottom line, fact was I got a fee structure and their rationalization of why that's best for the consumer.

I was also asked for a list of my domains and would receive feedback on which would work best with their system. I never heard back, so I'm assuming not having fantastic geo-locations puts me on the low priority list.

So I tried to figure out how I could do one domain. I could not get a response on method to sign up, but was told it was "live".

There's so many indefinates here I feel like it's a market research project.

my response from benny was via email today. I am in the market for such a product. especially for our city.tel. We have achieved most of what's on his magic 9 point list already, albiet the critical component ...auto-syncing between our offline/sql telephone database and the online dns database of .tel

as he says, there's nobody else with the toolset yet.
there's definately interest.
research project or not.

i will demo when something hits the market.
that simple.

cheers

The observations below are mostly for Henri/ Telnic, but I am also wondering if other people on this forum have similar questions and issues, or if my issues are unique.....

1) DNS navigation between .tel domains (jumping from .tel to .tel domain) seemed a lot smoother in the past- now the links open in new windows and for some purposes (see below) the new set up seems to me less efficient than in the past- basically in certain instances the new set up adds the need for closing a second window, and I don't currently understand why that would be necessary- there might be valid technical considerations behind it, but for now I don't see them.... Steveteva mentioned in the past that it would be nice to have both options available for .tel developers: to open links in a new window or to continue in the same window....

It's because you're linking to a .tel via a web url, instead of a native .tel GoTo link. If you were using regular .tel GoTo links, it would open in the same window. The idea is that as long as you're using .tel links, you're navigating. As soon as you click on a contact info field, you open a communication channel. This is the case for web urls.

2) The Superbook on iPhone is currently very nice, extremely quick and useful for adding simple .tel domains to somebody's contact or book. Do you plan to add to the Superbook a capability similar to jepaa.com to search for .tel domains based on keywords? And finally, do you plan to add to the Superbook a capability to search for keyword(s) within one domain with many subfolders or aggregate of .tel links and domains as described above for comunitate.tel ?.... I think that these features would be extremely useful for everybody using and developing .tels.

Either way, thank you for your attention to these matters and I wanted to thank everybody at Telnic for their hard work and achievements so far.
Stefan

Thanks very much.
Yes I'm going to add search in superbook, but I'd like to do it in a special way. Right now I've got an update to Superbook on the way that will allow saving .tel data into the Address Book. Type a .tel, click save, choose a new record (or an existing one), click done.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Dot tel monetization is now a real thing, forget about all guesses.
To all nasayers, I say dot tel are what you miss if you want to make some revenues.
Last night I've received an email from Benny Traub (Monetelize.com) and was one of the first to get the free download guide and a page link to a video explaining all possible ways to monetize a dot tel. WOW a new revolution! Fantastic job! You'll find all infos you need in this guide. The solution is now available. I highly recommend you subscribe free and download their guide:

Monetize .tel Domains
Let me simplify what the video on that site said..... "We can put affiliate links on your .tel for you."

Their target is clearly pure domainers who don't know anything outside of domaining. My recommendation would be to familiarize yourself with this very simple task and just do it yourself.

Oh, and I just love their screenshot of frankscarpentry.carpentry.tel having #1 on Google for "carpenter new york" with "powerful seo!" written on the screenshot, implying that they did it. No such ranking even exists.

But you know how it goes.... If you want to get rich in a gold rush, just sell tools to the miners.

I couldn't even login to Telstats yesterday! But I have tested and measured an alternative way to track '.Tel stats' & understand your audience viewership & DIY monetization.

I managed to get it working yesterday, and spent a long time migrating all my domains to telfriends. Had a number of random visitors to the more obvious ones 56 hits in total (not counting sedo), and some referrer urls from registrars' search results.

At some point during the day it stopped working completely and I no longer had access. The login form redirected me back to itself :(

Problem fixed. It's a new system and we're still putting it through its paces.

I was just looking at the Monetelize screenshot again.

This one: http://monetelize.com/Portals/0/Images/google_result2.jpg

The address bar says "http://www.google.com.au/search?q=carpentry..."

So they searched "carpentry" and then changed the search text box to "carpenter new york" and Photoshopped in the .tel at #1.

Tel Stats

Tel Stats is great!

Did some IP look ups.... seems like I've had visits from the US,Canada,Argentina,Russia,UK.. and a few other places that could not be determined..

Not bad for ZERO advertising!

And I thought .biz was the snake oil extension :)
Is that how you got your post count so high, by posting these boring, negative comments everywhere?

Never tell a lie, even a little white one!

I'm curious to know what's behind this, as I'm not understanding...
Is it a valid search or not?

The screen shot provided by DubDubDub does show that these search results are not real and are in fact 'falsified, doctored, erroneous...."

Evidence No. 1

The keyword URL searched on Google.com.au was 'carpentry' while the supposed target .tel keyword was 'New York Carpentry' (according to Google search box). If in fact, these results were true, the search URL would have been something like this:

AND YES, as dubdubdub explained, the top organic listing was photoshopped to show 'carpentry.tel' ranked in the No.1 position.

Evidence No. 2

The actual keyword search of 'Carpentry' on Google.com.au reveals that this .TEL does not even appear in the first 50 pages. In fact, not even the first 100 pages.... Also the keyword New York Carpentry (supposed target word) reveals that this .TEL does not rank on first page of Google. Wow!!!

This is ashame since this company will loose credibility with almost all .tel domainers!

But only you can be the judge of that!

I'm keeping some of mine as I feel there is a lot of money to be made from .tel's as its a one of a kind platform.

I'm keeping mine because they are well worth thousand $ and have 1 pure GEO.tel under commercial development.

Is there a way to develop .tel sites offline and then "upload" them?
