Hi

For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

Uncle!

For the record, I dislike popups and popunders as much as the next guy.

Truth be told, it's more the intent behind the action that I dislike. That's also the reason that despite having several thousand domains, my company doesn't park pages. If I can't offer more than a text ad experience to a site visitor, I'll pass.

Maybe that's why I had no problem proposing this little popunder idea. Any popunder generated by one of my .tel domains would have had to add value. But I can understand the resistance. As I said, it was like icing on the cake. Oh well...

a couple of fun hacks available

These are not "hacks" as the word is "tell". Yeah, to the ultra-geek crowd it might sound like fun and games but go ahead, register a bunch of these; you'd be dropping them in 365 days from now.

A hack needs to spell correctly:

pas.tel
car.tel
myho.tel

Etc.

See how nice and convinient to have a dot tel in action:

www.tahitiecotourism.com/aboutus.php

when click it redirect to contact page and look at the subdomain.
So will start offering contact pages for each country that have ecotours and ecotourism with yearly fees of course.

Yes, that's the "dream". Did you research if advertisers are willing to pay a fee on a page with no eye candy? Advertisers are willing to pay $$$ for content: images, commercials, ads, video, sound. You can't use a .tel domain as a substitute of a content-laden web site. Telnic chose to castrate the TLD.

LLN's and LNN's are getting registered daily as well.
That surprises me.

Then again, maybe it doesn't.

Whatever... it's pretty wild. :alien:

I am here because I like discussions that involve ignorance; it's great being able to educate people that act blinded from excitement.

Of course, depending on one's attitude I might respond "I didn't know I need your permission to post".

But you said they are cool hacks when they're just garbage.

I am commenting solely on that particular post you made, not you overall. You seem to have the attitude that because I am 90% against .tel I don't belong here. If you don't listen to opposing views, you never get a feeling of the world outside your own.

By the way, worldne.ws - that's a cool hack ;)

i have two .tels and that's all i want ....... this is just killing time on a saturday arvo

Acroplex, it looks like all your anti-TEL rhetoric is just being spouted because you want to promote your telsucks.com domain. Pure self-interest, that's all this is.

And why would anyone want to use that when they can just set up contact.html on their own site for free?
