Hi

For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

No need for attacks, .tel speaks for itself and there are those that can see huge potential and those that can't... I do respect people not wanting to invest in it, they are obviously very conservative and pessimistic of new extensions, as I am too, apart from this one, but the problem of not being able to control the site in terms of making it a website, are positives in my view for what .tel is designed for, but I can understand some pople having a problem with this and the fact that they can't park for a few cents a click with it.
Count me in as one who can't see the potential. Sure, there are a select few names that will "fit" the proposed purpose of .TEL, but the majority of names will have little chance, IMHO

The amount of money spent on landrush of this high risk venture seems staggering.
This coming from neither a conservative nor one pessimistic of new extensions....and no, my problem with it has nothing to do with the inability to park... It's the inability to develop simply put...that's what end users look for.

Again, I wish all luck who have chosen this path.

Hi Justin,

I actually viewed it from the name.com website as they have it embedded on a page there, so i didnt notice a share button, but i now see it on the telnic site. thanks!

(p.s. - the old boob tube is still a good channel for marketing to the general public imo - i just think the commercial is so good, like you could squeeze it into a super bowl spot and it would be totally legit! tell the director :hearts: )

Thanks. Don't write us off within 12 hours of GA OK? ;)

But post, paste and place to where ever you can - we'll look after the YouTube aspect.

Regards,

Not a fan of .tel either, but I also am an investor, so I just now regged a couple too -

Fairbanks.tel
TwinCities.tel

Also got my last name.

@nrmillions, I was hoping Laughlin had been passedby, but...

just kidding...... but i think the $10 regs were a way better deal than the $300 regs... you kids regging tons of those $300 in the current economy are insane and i slap thee.... or i would like to request the specific substance you are smoking so i may inhale as well.

either way.

thanks, yes I was a bit narrow minded in hindsight suggesting only conservative and pessimistic types wouldn't register, I take that back.. your reason is just as valid..all the best.

I agree.

$10 reg is much better.

It's low enough to take risk on.

If there's a keyword that I like that is available in .tel, I may purchase one.

That ad on myspace would be awesome and almost guarantee .tel going viral.

I hadn't heard of BT before but looks like they already have the .tel banner on their homepage, and, they are giving away 2000 .tel domains to small business owners on their network

https://forms.netsuite.com/app/site...mpid=573192&formid=135&h=2e8822b6af97f8a9ec39

I'd say telnic did a great job on partnering and business alliances

I've checked the geos.

Majority are gone.
All the country names are gone.

US cities above 100,000 in population that remain are:

ELKGROVE.TEL
CARROLLTON.TEL

actually, theres several more than that:

DALYCITY.TEL
VICTORVILLE.TEL
WESTJORDAN.TEL
ROSEVILLE.TEL
SUNRISEMANOR.TEL (census-designated place (CDP)
WESTVALLEYCITY.TEL
WESTCOVINA.TEL
VISALIA.TEL
OLATHE.TEL
EASTLOSANGELES.TEL
ELKGROVE.TEL
CARROLLTON.TEL
DOWNEY.TEL
PORTSAINTLUCIE.TEL (portstlucie.tel is taken)
SPRINGVALLEY.TEL (census-designated place (CDP)

if you're not familiar with 'CDP' you might want to look it up before regging those

I just now regged my only four .tel's. My last name, and three geos:

Beaver.tel (my town name)
Clarksville.tel (100k+ population city in Tennessee, and I own the .mobi)
Arvada.tel (100k+ population city in Colorado, and I own the .mobi)
PompanoBeach.tel (100k+ population Florida city, one of the top vacation home markets in the US)

I don't really like .tel much... but you can't really go wrong with solid geo's and personal names imho.

I had an eye on PompanoBeach too except that Pompano.tel was already taken so i nixed it.

Thank Goodness, no stand-alone development or "ecosystem" required ... for the short & highly brandable .TEL! :talk: :lala:

Some good looking geo's, generics, property, and "names" in here, IMHO. :music:
Enjoy the day, friends! :)

Yeah, I looked at pompano.tel then someone snatched it a few hours into GA.

Yeah...based on some of the names I've seen registered @ $300, it must have been some experimental medical grade.

.tel isn't any shorter than .com/.net/.org/.biz/.pro/etc

And I've never in my life heard a normal person complain of an extension, any extension, being too long to type.

And if anything, .tel is less brandable than most extensions.

.info is too long to type, which is why nobody registers them
