Hi

For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

I might try to change the nameservers and see what happens...

You won't need to change nameservers. You will need to create a login id and password to get into telnic. Your registrar should have a link in your account to do this. Once you create your login, you can access your site. It may take a few hours to get the site "activated." You then should be able to add whatever contact info. you want on your .tel.

I registered a .tel domain like an hour ago on Moniker and the status said successful and when I go to Telnic.org to the whois section it shows my info for the domain but the status shows Pending Create. Does that mean it isnt locked into me yet? Is there a chance it could get rejected and I wont own the name?

You're good.

It just means you haven't loaded your info yet.

Congrats!

Fake sales and all?

The .tel investors that will make money are the ones that follow the early .mobi domainers. Buy early and get out early.

That statement is seriously IYHO! IMHO :hi:

Interesting. there was one .tel i wanted already on pre-order at domainmonster, so i pre-ordered it on webnames instead. Then this morning I logged in to Moniker and as soon as the GA window was open I put the order through and it ends up beating out both pre-orders at domainmonster and webames!

Haha, many are aware of your relationship with the highly brandable Sir Jeffrey.

And every single step along the way I repeated that one needs to do their own research and conduct due diligence prior to investment (and, moreover, that the landrush $300+/- registration fees were costly and, thus, riskly) ... that being said, I do still think that the .TEL is a very unique extension (for instance, no development required) and seems like a good, highly brandable alternative for access to vital contact information for those that are on their mobile devices while in a hurry and out and about while "on the go"! :talk: :imho:

I wish all investors well, naturally! :music:
See you soon.

May take a little bit for the DNS to resolve after you enter some contact info. However, once you enter in contact info., it begins the activation of your .tel. Pretty straightforward stuff, you can plugin some contact info. and on the left you can add sub-folders. :)

Finally!

Poets.tel is live.

Took 24 hours.

Will this eventually be faster?

Hopefully. It could be a result of opening day jitters :) Everyone is probably taking a lot of bandwidth from TelHost. We'll see.

btw, nice job with poets.tel :)

Great approach!. I should have done the same thing to assure my registrations... BUT unfortunately I' didn't.

Upon looking at whois registration times... It looks like treatment.tel was registered about 1 min & 34 seconds into GA, while my 1st preorder was fulfilled at almost 3 hours after GA..... Not good!!!

I'm amazed I was able to snag my three premium names. Wheew! :td:

yea, it was the only one name i did it for, but maybe i should have sat there trying to beat out other pre-orders, seems i could have picked off a windfall of good names.

on another note, i had a list of 70 first names that were *not* pre-ordered on domainmonster as of yesterday. i just ran a check and not one of them is available, *all* 70 have been regged. :o
