For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

I agree this is a very new extensions with lots of potential just needs the functions sorted out first..

the search functionality was removed a month or so ago but should be reintroduced shortly. Am sure there will be an official note from telnic when the proxy change is released.

A l'origine, l'extension .tel devait être plus facile à référencer du fait de son originalité, mais on n'a peu vu un .tel venir en haut de la 1ère page de Google sur requête de son vocable, exemple : taper le nom PARIS ne permet pas d'afficher en bonne position PARIS.TEL. Un autre exemple vient contredire ma thèse, mais est-ce une exeption (car c'est le fondateur du .tel) : nom TELNIC : résultat dans une des 1ères positions : TELNIC.TEL. Qu'en pensez-vous ?

Google officially does not care about used tld ( i am not talking about ctld) when ranking website.
So .tel or .info or .org... there should not be difference. Content and backlink are much more importants.
