OK dubdubdubdot, this is my last reply to you because it is not really my business to help you understand the limitations and major problems of the 2 sites that you mentioned (yellowbook.com and the other one). Reality is not always easy to grasp, and sometimes I have similar difficulties myself at times, but in this case let me introduce you to the subject because it is straightforward and easy to check on the facts.
Please understand that sites like the ones that you mentioned are exactly the reason why you need something like .tel that can be quickly updated by the rightful owners of their own information…. I am looking to move soon, so I used your yellowbook.com to check on the accuracy of the information for my real estate agent:
Jones Sarah Realty
2 Dartmouth StForest Hills,NY11375
718-544-0480
I have to tell you that she moved from the location listed in yellowbook.com and in her place you see that there is a new business moving in (Weichert Realtors, that you have listed at 10115 Metropolitan Ave, Forest Hills,NY11375-6647, 718-544-4000)
Then I looked for a second thing that I am interested in, a dermatologist in Rego Park, NY. The YellowBook.com directory doesn’t recognize the word dermatologist, but when I look under Dermatology in Rego Park, NY the first listing that I see is:
Moss Tamara
9745 Queens BlvdRego Park,NY11374
718-459-8460
Actually, again Tamara Moss moved to Forest Hills NY more than a year ago and you can find her a few subway stations away from the location listed. Then, out of the next 7 people or businesses in the listed search I am pretty sure that 6 out of 7 are not licensed to practice Dermatology in the US, with only the guy at position #2 being a dermatologist who will retire probably very soon. The guy at # 9 is legit, followed by a guy who might be a spine (not skin) specialist….
This is reality dubdub, I am sorry to break your bubble because I swear that I have nothing personal with you…. About 10% out of the stores in my neighborhood are empty, a percentage that is slightly lower probably than the average for New York in general.
The two sites you mentioned are a great work of fiction that are nevertheless very misleading when they are labeled to provide info to the public…. I love the strong impressive branding of the yellowbook.com and the yellow hue of the site itself, and that is great because on the cell phone you will have to keep looking at that yellow for a while, unless you realize that the info there is often nonsense and then you start to be really angry and see red….. The experience is surreal and you might want to submit the website for an Oscar or other award for modern experimental art. At this point even my empty RegoPark.tel and ForestHills.tel sites are better than Yellowbook.com for these neighborhoods, because at least they are not misleading in any way….. Now remember that if I choose to put bs on these .tel sites too, then these sites will be worthless too…. DubDub, I am wondering, are you for real or are you being paid to mention dubious web sites and products on this forum?…. Let's get real for a second here..... I don't know if .tel will be successful, but there is a great need for something like it in the real world!

Because "I'm a .tel profile developer." probably isn't going to help you pick up anyone at the club. Then again any .tel "developer" won't have gas money to get to the club.
This sort of directory is what many of you have in mind to emulate within .tel profiles and charge for...

You seem to have a disdain for people who can code their own sites and actually make things happen. Why?
