It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it. B-)

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Alexandria.pro

Anchorage.pro

Arlington.pro

Belfast.pro

Birmingham.pro

Budapest.pro

Durham.pro

Fairfax.pro

Italian.pro

Lisbon.pro

Fire away with your regs after the relaunch on September 8th, 2008.

It's posts like THIS ONE that provoke profound thought filled with fleeting existential domain doubt. Suddenly .WS is trending as the potential next big thing? While hundreds of relevant, desirable .PRO single and compound dictionary word domains are available for immediate registration at about four bucks a throw (not to mention almost 400 newly minted gTLDs courtesy of our friends at ICANN), one domain investor has committed to spending "six figures" stocking up on two and three letter .WS domain names?

RIP.WS is the most accurate description for this ccTLD.

I thought this might be a good time to review a few CC TLDs in light of the recent .WS TLD speculative purchases and promotion efforts in the domain name blogosphere.

.WS for the Independent State of Samoa https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.ws

.SO for the country of Somalia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.so

.TV for the island country of Tuvalu https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.tv

.ME for the country of Montenegro https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.me

I stopped watching DomainSherpa.com videos when I was listening to a discussion about desireable domain names, and Adam Dicker referred to .pro as he feigned a stutter of the word prostitute.

This kind of nonsense in DomainSherpa.com (videos long since removed, I believe) along with the other nonsense from certain .com domain promoters is why so many domain investors question the motives of certain domain name bloggers.

It's quite something to see the speculative buying of .WS. I remember when .SO was supposed to be the must-have TLD.

As I always say, each of us need to arrive at our own independent judgment about business matters. Sure, do your research, have lots of conversations, and then decide for yourself.

The biggest mistake a new person can make is to doubt their own common sense, gut feeling. If something strikes you as a little odd or misleading, it might pay to ask a few more questions.

.ME and .TV are strong/valuable ccTLDs (incl. my own experience)...
But this thread is all about .PRO

From which losing registrar to which new registrar?
Never transferred a .pro myself but curious to see if I can help.
