It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it. B-)

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Alexandria.pro

Anchorage.pro

Arlington.pro

Belfast.pro

Birmingham.pro

Budapest.pro

Durham.pro

Fairfax.pro

Italian.pro

Lisbon.pro

Fire away with your regs after the relaunch on September 8th, 2008.

The numbers that you are looking at really aren't relevant to my plans.

They were some of the same numbers you just used. I just gave more of the story so you can get a better, more accurate picture. After my post, a few minutes later, they're no longer relevant? You used a 2 year old .pro sale and for some reason a .club sale, not sure what that has to do with .pro. And you didn't even give an accurate picture on that one, leaving out it was over 10 years. Look at it like you're not invested in it, take the emotion out. Downward trend. Whatever number you look at.

Correct.

From where I sit, the stats have no impact on keyword choice and little if any relationship with my decision to register.

The stats are simply a snap shot in time to show current registration numbers. And, they will change again. And, again.

Even with the decline that you showed, and the well-known issue regarding the licensing verification, the TLD continues to be supported.

Now, I don't know what administrative costs are required to maintain a TLD, however, I suspect the costs are less than for the new gTLDs. So from that standpoint, I'm willing to gamble.

Based on your last response, you don't sound very serious. That's too bad.

That doesn't even make sense. The only thing you quoted from my last response, is how you flip flopped on whether the numbers were relevant. These are just domains, not your child, don't become too emotionally attached to them.

That doesn't even make sense. This is coming from somebody that just posted they're going to invest in an extension that's dying for another 10 years.

I think the thing you all need to focus on is whether you believe the .pro combined with your keyword is worth holding. I believe .pro is worth the wait and is better than many of the new extensions coming out. It's going to take a while till all the dust settles but believe .pro are some of the best domains available.

Total .pros registered was flat during the summer moving from 129,614 in May 2014 to 129,604 in August 2014. RU Center was the only .pro registrar still growing its .pros registered, up from 30,758 to 31,550. Average daily WHOIS searches for June 2014 was 89,500, this is the latest month available. June 2013 average monthly searches was 89,800 so there has been little change year on year.

Good sale, congrats. I dropped workout.pro last year. I don't feel bad about it though, slowly all or majority of the .pros will be dropped by most of the people. The price to keep renewing them every year with little or no return is just ridiculous.
