It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it. B-)

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Alexandria.pro

Anchorage.pro

Arlington.pro

Belfast.pro

Birmingham.pro

Budapest.pro

Durham.pro

Fairfax.pro

Italian.pro

Lisbon.pro

Fire away with your regs after the relaunch on September 8th, 2008.

DesertFox,

The tool which you are most likely referring to is domainappraisal.pro which is now (unfortunately resolving to a .net) this can be seen on the front page of google. Here is the thread it was first introduced http://www.namepros.com/for-sale-advertising-board/568123-domain-appraisal-tool.html while the .pro is a better fit the .net has a lot been regged since 02.

This certainly appears to be different tech to estibot. As such values .pros higher.

I'll be listing the majority of my PROs for sale on eBay tonight and tomorrow. I have about half of them posted and will have more up by later this evening.

They are also listed in the External Auctions section of NamePros.

After a 2-3 month delay, I picked up Truck.pro today. The domain went to auction at Snapnames in August, somebody outbid me but never paid, I saw the domain status was stuck on Payment Pending so I asked Snapnames if I could have it a couple of days ago and they gave it to me for the price I would have won the auction at if the winning bidder hadn't bid which was virtually the initial bid. Truck.us sold for $3,150 in August 07, Truck.ws sold for $1,250 in May 08 and Truck.com sold for $101,000 in 04. Mid $XX was a steal, this will sit nicely with my other "big rig" .pros, Train.pro, Boat.pro, and Yacht.pro. Fast.pro has just gone to auction at Snapnames with 5 bidders, I like this .pro angle, I hand regged Quick.pro and Rapid.pro in 2007. If you have an interest in .pro, you should bid for .pros that already have bids on, that way even if you don't bid, you won't win it but you will see how much they sell for, it's good for keeping abreast of what .pros are selling for at auction.

Awesome !! Nice job AK. You have a really nice gang of traveling premiums there.

On the other hand I'm moving away from Pros and have finally finished posting my (dot) PROs in the Fixed Price section of NamePros ending up with 48 listings. They are "Stuck" up near the top. I have not yet had a chance to do a great deal of research into their value so everything is subject to change.

If anyone is interested in buying in bulk, I think that you might be surprised how LOW I will GO on a bulk purchase. Throw some numbers at me. I'm easy.

Before I made any claims about Premium keywords I checked the definition and I still can't tell you how to strictly define one. But I think that I have nine or ten that would qualify. They are listed below.

Lift.pro, Sonar.pro, Cats.pro, Essays,pro, Invitations.pro, Transmission.pro, BioDiesel.pro, Scream.pro and Investors.pro.

Note that I only have 24 of the total 48 listed on eBay. I should be able to get the rest of them up on DN and eBay sometime tomorrow. Also, I have received some good advice via PM from other dot PRO domainers and it is greatly appreciated. OK. Have to stop rambling at some point, so I'm gone. Thanks. Charles.

Just added Deal.pro for $360 and Courses.pro for $210 on Snapnames. Deal.info sold for $5,100 in Sep 08, Deal.us sold for $2,000 in Oct 06, Courses.org sold for $12,000 in Jun 08, Courses.us sold for $12,500 in Dec 07 and Courses.biz sold for $1,488 in Nov 06 so a nice non .com track record for both. I like the discount and stockmarket trade double edged sword for deal and the training to be a professional angle with courses.

You have too much money my friend, good pick ups! Good luck!

I fancy deal.pro - makes a great site for consumers product price comparison+coupons+reviews!

Cats.pro is up for auction at sedo.
.
The prices that I have listed on all of my PROs on eBay and on sedo are retail / end user prices. They are not "domainer" prices. Any and all offers will be considered and appreciated.

Need your advice before I develop my .pro

I own several .pro and 1 .me I want to develop a business directory and really don't know what will be the best domain suitable for this:

1- HomeStaging dot pro
2- HomeStager dot pro
3- Auckland dot pro
4- Waikiki dot me (it's a me could list hotels, restaurants, shops...)

Don't know witch will work the most and more easy to promote.
Your suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

Hi akcampbell et al

Would you mind telling me where you are getting the historical sales price data that you referenced in your last post??

Truck.us sold for $3,150 in August 07, Truck.ws sold for $1,250 in May 08 and Truck.com sold for $101,000 in 04.

Also, considering that you have seen every PRO that I own, would you rank Airplane.pro at the top even though Cats and Outerwear both take a tremendous volume of searches?

THANKS PROs
Charles

It's sad that a small majority still fail to see that .PRO has gone the way of .MOBI.

It's over people, now is the time to rethink AND regroup. I hear a lot of really nice .ORGs are dropping these days. IMO.

Charles,

I use
namebio.com and dnsaleprice.com and check sedo as well as afternic for similar keywords and any bids, etc.

If I felt that way about .PROs, the last place that you would find me would be hanging around a thread devoted to .PRO discussion.

Microguy thanks again for your opinion. To compare .Pro to .Mobi is slightly failed, They are completely different tlds for a start one is designed to be viewed via mobile. Pro has no such restrictions. You could more fairly compare .pro to .biz but not .mobi.

While there are nice .orgs dropping they are also getting picked up for fairly high prices. ie Yellowstone.org approx $14000. I prebid for one (dictionary word) yesterday with no bids one minute to go, looked at it this morning and it got about sixteen other bidders, If you know of any that are not getting the competion please let me know. ;)

I think people are investing in .pro s because they are looking towards the future with a longterm plan. For example I picked up one earlier in the week, Culture/pro which fits nicely with my Entertainment/pro and Style/pro which I acquired last year. I'll be happy to hold these long term. I regged Fiji/pro a few weeks ago which is another investment I am pleased with.

You want to develop a business directory and you are stuck between home staging and Auckland! I don’t think any of the four names listed fits the idea at all.

On a different note, your .pro names are a waste of money with the exception of Auckland to some extent. I’d get rid of such .pro names and register/acquire single keywords dropping on a regular basis.

I added Airplane.pro today for $485. I work for an airline so I thought it would be a nice addition to Truck.pro, Train.pro, Yacht.pro, and Boat.pro.

I agree, the trick is to find somebody who wants to develop a parking site, or maybe find somebody who knows alot about domain parking and could convert that knowledge into a minisite. I don't think you are asking an unreasonable price, you just need to find the right person to sell it to.

The only problem you might have is that people interested in parking aren't usually into .pro or any alternative extension because you need a decent .com if you want to make money out of type in traffic. From a branding and domainer interest, Park.pro is bang on the money. My advice is to cast your net wide and don't be shy of bumping your sale thread every now and again. NP member Zuriko could sell Ice.pro to eskimos, he was very dedicated to the cause, look back at his strategy, it makes good reading for anybody selling .pros.
