It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it. B-)

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Alexandria.pro

Anchorage.pro

Arlington.pro

Belfast.pro

Birmingham.pro

Budapest.pro

Durham.pro

Fairfax.pro

Italian.pro

Lisbon.pro

Fire away with your regs after the relaunch on September 8th, 2008.

I tried to move some .pros from Encirca to DomainPeople, no transactions yet though.

I wonder if they will ever transfer, only have one week now.

Any idea?

I've been reviewing threads about domainpeople and don't feel comfortable transferring my day one regs there..

I'll bite the bullet and pay the encirca renewal fees .

If your transfers don't go through I'd cancel and renew at encirca ..still $40 each cheaper than last year..

my 2 cents

Well, I dont have any day one regs... but i will be keeping my top 5 names at Encirca.

Just that $40 per name x 30 names at a time makes a significant difference to the bottomline.

Would you like to elaborate what exactly you find odd with domainpeople? And if they can offer $35/yr renewals, whats stopping encirca for doing the same?

Just do a search on the big 3 forums for domainpeople ..other than prices I find nothing nothing positive on them as a registrar/

As far as encirca pricing they are at netsol use to be..originally the only game in town and people then..as now with encirca feel comfortable renewing at prices higher than other registrars.

perhaps next year they'll come down.

only my 2 cents

We have a number of .pros with both Domain People and Encirca and would have to say that the latter is superior. We initially had registration and billing problems with DP and the same experience has recently been repeated with a .tel landrush application. DP's support has been terrible and we're still waiting for a response.

Hopefully Encirca will lower renewal fees as we'd like to transfer into them.

Although the renewal fee is high, Encirca looks better, IMO.

So, if domain is at both registrars lol, what does one do? Register at the old registerar again?

In my opinion it's a kindergarten situation...We all like children - transferring our domains from one registrar to another in order to save some $$$ :)

It will be better if all registrars decreased .Pro reg/renew fees to $10 with cancelletion of A/V procedure and in this case .Pro domain will be significantly popular in the world!

You think it is childish to save money?
In this day and age?
With the current state of international economies?

Of course - no! I'm also transferring my domains to Domainpeople :)

Sometimes I'm thinking that the lottery tickets providing more chances (in a short-term perspective) :hehe:-, but in a long-term - .Pro is better.

Not true, unless we as domainers start positively promoting the extension by developing instead of parking the names and taking the good ones from actual professionals.

Think about it. People would normally move to .pro because the keyword they want in .com is taken. If domainers take those keywords in .pro because they're greedy and they think it will make them a quick buck, they're mistaken. It may pay in the short term to flip some of these names to other speculators, but there won't be many end users buying .pro unless the extension gains mainstream popularity.
