It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it. B-)

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Alexandria.pro

Anchorage.pro

Arlington.pro

Belfast.pro

Birmingham.pro

Budapest.pro

Durham.pro

Fairfax.pro

Italian.pro

Lisbon.pro

Fire away with your regs after the relaunch on September 8th, 2008.

Dutch.pro is very nice registration. There are 4m URL's with the word Dutch in, if you put allinurl: Dutch into Google and work your way through the type of uses, Dutch.pro trumps most of them as a short, flexible, Dutch brand.

It could be a Dutch language site where you want to speak Dutch like a pro or be taught it by a pro, a professional network for people of Dutch origin, or you could sell products that are typically Dutch, eg flower bulbs, bouquets, confectionary.

Alternatively, it would be a great site name for a Dutch company selling overseas and wanting to trade on their Dutch-ness and convey professionalism.

PS. Would you like a .pro avatar with the Sun face in your gif as the "O" in Pro? PM me your email address if you'd like one.

Glad to see you're regging GEOs and the related =]. I have faith in them for the .PRO extension.

riding.pro
putter.pro

Hope you are a new member and you require some more experience to buy and invest. I suggest you to go through the forum before you invest. While you at the verge of renewal you will realise the pain. Be careful before you invest. You contact a person whom you trust and get their suggestion before you buy. Do some sort of research about the potential of the domain name then go ahead and purchase.

All the Best,

sundari.

Guys!
According mass .pro registrations - we have a real .Pro BOOM! Even I would say euphoria...
I think next year in November-December 2009 it will be a huge .Pro drop...
What do you think?

Its possible. But are we not better served by envisioning sustained growth in new registrations, stronger than expected renewal rates, greater liquidity in the resale market and an upward trend in website development. Predicting drops is too easy, and all too self-fulfilling. Growth scenarios create hope, and the promise of engaging .Pro interests, individually and collectively, in achieving goals for the extension. Please take the opportunity to peruse the thread titled, Getting a *lot* harder to find good unregged .pro's, in order to preview a key growth issue that I have committed to community discussion and resolution. Experience suggests that we rely on Hostway at our own peril. Together, we can and must control our own destiny! Comments encouraged.

There will be some drops, no doubt about that, one year hence people who are mass regging now will see what is and what is not good and drop what they can't sell out of the not good.

As a whole though I think .pro can only grow from here on in. Lower reg fees and hopefully cheaper transfers/renewals will kick in soon too. Plus increasing the stability by allowing pros to register the names themselves was a good move by registrypro to increase investor confidence. Increasing the coverage to a global basis is also a great move.

I'm looking at expanding my .pro holding soon, but will prefer to buy in the aftermarket for now, following akcampbell's example - $800 for diamond.pro is a steal.

Yes, it's good domains, but who will buy them?:)
I think it's good idea to develop these domains.

Yep, the more development the better. Need some big name .PROs out there either developed by domainers or by end-users, to spread the word.

Someone went crazy with green and energy .PROs at encirca today!

Registry really needs to get its head out of the sand and advertise and market .PRO to businesses, in business magazines and websites to get the word out. It needs to HIGHLIGHT registrars that are charging low reg fees.

As others have said, registry also needs to approach big registrars but before it does that it needs to make the process as smooth as possible even with license requirements. I like how Network Solutions and others have done so far as far as verification is concerned. The registrars on the other hand need to maintain very low registration fees as well as low renewals, perhaps SAME price as the registration fee or lower to give .PRO another advantage over the other measly extensions like .ASIA, .ME, .MOBI. The only difference and hurdle between .PRO and other extensions is the licensed restriction and that is the only reason people are able to register other extensions more and have seen sales is that they do not have any restrictions. I hope registry and those who have stake in .PRO are able to see that and correct the problem.

Ultimately, it would not make sense to have people register .PROs at lower reg fees and then force them to drop those names when it comes time to renew. That is big waste of money and time and effort from all parties involved but the loser would be the end user, the domainers and that could mean loss of trust in .PRO registry and the extension it self.

And about price for selling: I am not sell my best names like Link.pro or Branding.pro or Management.pro less then 20-40k
I just offered my portfolio 54 domains for 540k( yes i amnot sold but i showed price of great .pro domains!)
Hold real price is very importent and I am sure this is a realprice for Generic Premium Top-level domains!!!!
all main portfolios owners are here we have to decide premium domains pricing (i think!))
Now when world economic crisis, it is opposit situation for 2001 when happend .COM Crunch!
in 2001 all investors going back to real business and quality of internet connections and networks and data exchange was too low.
Today internet become money saving mashine!
Endusers need quality internet and quality domain names!!
.pro can be one of the best.
What do you think guys??Am I right??)))

I will be (and I think all people here) will be more than happy if it will become true.
But in my opinion it will be take a years for becoming .Pro highly profitable
And from other side - what did we do in 1987-1993???
We even could not imagine about value (for example) of 3letters.com or computer.com, or x.com and etc...:) We even did not know words - what is internet and what is domain....eh...
So question is - will .Pro become profitable like .Com?...
Time will tell
And also negative thing - .Pro license requirements.
From one point of view - it's reasonable for .Pro idea, but from other point - it scare away potential .Pro buyers

Only if the end users and businesses know about it and thats where registrypro and registrars need to play a big role. I want to see advertisements in magazines like Business Week, Fortune, Time, etc. maybe a 30 second ad on Bloomberg TV, financial TV shows and websites. But before registry does this and spends this money on marketing, the restrictions need to and it needs to focus and highlight the professional use of the .PRO.

A weekend well spent...

Its been my experience that .PRO threads are fairly quiet on the weekend---too quiet for my taste. However, this weekend, today in particular, was much less so. I was very grateful to see more members expressing their opinions about .PRO and the like. I pray that it continues as I am confident it will help us put .PRO on the right path, build community and spirit, alike. Thank you! :)

Attention all .pro investors.

Hello .pro co-investors,

Here is my suggestion to make a great push to .pro TLD.

I think everyone of our .pro investor community should write to sedo.com to conduct a separate auction for .pro TLD alone. All the members can share share their views on this.

Great suggestion but I don't think the time is right for that, just yet.

First sedo needs to take .pro out of the "other" category when users are searching for domains. Then the registry needs to do its part to make .PRO a viable choice for businesses, web developers and end users and then push for auction would make sense as it would mean maximum profits for domainers.
