It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it. B-)

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Alexandria.pro

Anchorage.pro

Arlington.pro

Belfast.pro

Birmingham.pro

Budapest.pro

Durham.pro

Fairfax.pro

Italian.pro

Lisbon.pro

Fire away with your regs after the relaunch on September 8th, 2008.

The original agreement between ICANN and the ProRegistry authorizing the extension called for the creation of third level domains rooted around a restricted number of profession specific second level categories (lawyers, accountants and doctors----ie. jones.law.pro, jones.cpa.pro, and jones.med.pro). Not long after the Registry opened its doors for business, it approached ICANN with a proposal to open the extension to second level registrations such as jones.pro and productivity.pro. ICANN granted the Registry's application. Things get fairly murky after this. That said, for your purposes, you are the registrant of a second level domain. Use of the phrase "second tier" is merely a somewhat awkward description of the same.

As to DNS services, because your registration is with Encirca, you will soon enjoy plenary DNS and related services. While Encirca's prices tend to be higher than their competition (current special excepted), their tertiary services simply out-class the competition.

Finally, please note that your registration, while otherwise proper, remains inactive. You will need to either contact Encirca or await their instructions in order to raise your account to active status. Bear in mind, however, that until such time as your account is activated, you will be unable to avail yourself of DNS and/or related services. Nor will your domain even resolve for the time being.

PM me if I can be of further assistance. In the meantime, welcome to the .PRO community.

Mike

Mike - i couldn't imagine better attention in a wood-paneled office, being charged in 6 minute blocks.

Stats

DigitalCameras.pro

Google Avg. Monthly Search Vol.

24,900,000 "phrase match"

16,600,000 [exact match]*

13,946 Daily Wordtracker

__________

Chase.pro

Google Avg. Monthly Search Vol.

9,140,000 "phrase match"

1,830,000 [exact match]*

3,062 Daily Wordtracker

*Google exact match volume is significant because a certain percentage of direct navigation traffic results when the search inquiry is directly typed into the URL address bar. Of course, until .pro achieves greater popularity & acceptance, the great majority of that traffic will go to the .com TLD.
