It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it. B-)

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Alexandria.pro

Anchorage.pro

Arlington.pro

Belfast.pro

Birmingham.pro

Budapest.pro

Durham.pro

Fairfax.pro

Italian.pro

Lisbon.pro

Fire away with your regs after the relaunch on September 8th, 2008.

Very good move! Let's hope a price war ensues.

It makes economic sense to cut reg fees further because the number of .pros regged would more than double if the reg fee was halved. Alternative extensions are very price elastic.

Also, as reg fees continue to fall, more people take the view that the extension might get somewhere and speculative and defensive registrations snowball. You have to set reg fees at whatever level is required to get the snowball rolling and then keep it rolling.

If there were 2m-3m .pros registered then you can put up the price gradually because people will pay more for a domain extension that is known to a majority of end users. RegistryPro must grab the premium business alternative extension market before somebody else does.

Not bad! I regged drinking.pro recently
It's a crisis today. Many people are drinking:)

Very nice fit with .pro. My only concern would be membership has sold just 4 times in .com with a max price of about $2k. I have a couple of similar .pros, Subscription.pro and Fees.pro.
Andrew, thank you for your comment

Diamond.pro is really a gem. End users would really see the sparkle in that one.

Nice buy!

Welcome aboard! I like productivity as a keyword - very marketable. It sounds great with the extension having the double "pro" effect. Could be developed or sold as is to the right user.

thanks guys! reps added

what do they mean by "second tier" domain registration? and can we change the DNS (or just cloak a site with these babys)?

Pretty sure second tier just means you can have ____.pro.

Just picked up TAGS.pro

1.16 b google results for tags
41.5 m for tags professional
118K for "tags professional"
86K for "tags pro"

Had to reg it with the encirca price drop.

Nice pickup .tv - could be used for forex exchange, currency rates, or even foreign exchange students.

The original agreement between ICANN and the ProRegistry authorizing the extension called for the creation of third level domains rooted around a restricted number of profession specific second level categories (lawyers, accountants and doctors----ie. jones.law.pro, jones.cpa.pro, and jones.med.pro). Not long after the Registry opened its doors for business, it approached ICANN with a proposal to open the extension to second level registrations such as jones.pro and productivity.pro. ICANN granted the Registry's application. Things get fairly murky after this. That said, for your purposes, you are the registrant of a second level domain. Use of the phrase "second tier" is merely a somewhat awkward description of the same.

As to DNS services, because your registration is with Encirca, you will soon enjoy plenary DNS and related services. While Encirca's prices tend to be higher than their competition (current special excepted), their tertiary services simply out-class the competition.

Finally, please note that your registration, while otherwise proper, remains inactive. You will need to either contact Encirca or await their instructions in order to raise your account to active status. Bear in mind, however, that until such time as your account is activated, you will be unable to avail yourself of DNS and/or related services. Nor will your domain even resolve for the time being.

PM me if I can be of further assistance. In the meantime, welcome to the .PRO community.

Mike
