It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it. B-)

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Alexandria.pro

Anchorage.pro

Arlington.pro

Belfast.pro

Birmingham.pro

Budapest.pro

Durham.pro

Fairfax.pro

Italian.pro

Lisbon.pro

Fire away with your regs after the relaunch on September 8th, 2008.

your opinion guys..
Zuriko,
Your positive track record, albeit brief, suggests that most inquiries of this nature will tend to flow inbound. But since you have so humbly asked; I once upon a time owned opportunity.pro. Of course, pre-9-8-08, many a domainer and his domain were separated in precipitous fashion. So went that particular opportunity, if you will. Today, however, with retail prices for .PRO domains falling, and demand rising inversely, there are many names that I would consider holding, as of this date, that I would have relegated to "hot potato" status only a year ago, one being opportunity.pro . (I'm assuming the UK has its own equivalent of this silly party game where the last guy holding the potato when time runs basically loses the round) Today, I would have strongly considered retaining opportunity.pro in my portfolio. As to opportunities.pro, I think it a bit awkward and long. Even so, I would not necessarily resign it "potato" status. Nor, however would I deem it a "keeper". In your case, you'll probably turn it over for a very handsome profit and I'll be revisiting my decision as to its singular version for ions to come....Cheers and well regards.

That's funny! I had this domain on my list as well. But the owner changed to Encirca themselves after expiry, and this held for at least several days (owner was Encirca, and name servers changed to normal Encirca server after being "please-renew-"-name servers).

So I thought that Encirca had begun snapping the best expired domains for themselves.

Very good that this is not the case!

Good luck with this domain! I have enough other good ones, so I don't care that much about it, but it really is a nice one.

May be a coincidence, but I checked a .pro domain at Encirca some days ago and, due to some problems at my PC, I didn't register it then... Some hours after the domain was taken! D-:

The domain is 8-X 8-X 8-X Fear.pro 8-X 8-X 8-X

I just couldn't resist...

You shouldn't go to the supermarket when you're hungry, but I swear I wasn't hungry when I just registered these names:

pork.pro
vegetables.pro
banana.pro
bananas.pro
peach.pro
peaches.pro

But hey, I got some others as well:

kernel.pro
ticker.pro
newsticker.pro
ranger.pro
(I already own farmer.pro)

What do you think about them? Was it worth the money?

I think ticker might be a steal this late in the game. Nice pick-up.

Ticker.pro is a good name for a stock quote site. An industry marketing organisation or distributor could develop Banana.pro or Peach.pro to promote bananas and peaches (eg. Dole, Chiquita) and fruits are useful for unrelated branding. I would have skipped the plurals though, this type of reg is original but ahead of the game and the plural takes you just that bit further into unregged territory.

Thanks for sharing your opinion! I wasn't sure about the plural forms: The domains banana.pro and peach.pro look better "as is", but for a trading company the plural might be better. (I think nobody would sell a single banana.)

And when you look at the counterparts under other TLDs (even exotic ones), you'll see that there are more domains taken in the plural form than in the singular one.

I didn't want to take both forms, and thought about simply registering the plural form. But I couldn't decide, so I took them both. Now I'm happy with it. :bingo:

BTW, these are some of my rare examples of domains I regged for trading. Most of the others shall be used for an email service, that's the reason for ranger.pro.

Absolutely coincidence!

If you look back at these .Pro posts, you'll see my company has been continually registering .pro domains over the past few months. I reg'd horror.pro about a month ago and gave fear.pro a try just the other night. I was surprised to find it available.

What I've learned the hard way is that if you find a domain available - and especially if it would go on your "A" list, you'd better grab it, because there are probably other people doing the same thing. I've had names disappear from the radar while doing a keyword count or after losing internet service for just a few minutes. >:(

Plus, with Network Solutions added to the mix, the number of .Pro buyers has had a huge increase. Aside from the fact that I have no clue how to spy, I'm not looking to build a domain portfolio by pulling the carpet out from underneath anybody.
