I've just kicked off my blog Name Topic with an article dedicated to my new approach for finding end-users. I know that the topic of nabbing the elusive end-user is near and dear to all of our hearts!
I'm only posting this on NP, so I hope that you find it useful! I welcome all feedback and further discussion in this thread.

One of the most common problems I think that we all share as domainers is that when it comes to the concept of finding end-users, the practice and process is typically disjointed at best. We find ourselves in a unique position of having a valuable offering, yet no real way of introducing ourselves and our products to the end-user in a professional and friendly manner. We have no opportunity to establish respect and rapport. Of course, we do have the option of contacting prospective buyers via email or phone, but this provides no guarantee that the person we are contacting will be receptive or even in a position of authority to deal with such offers. We can list our domains for sale on an after market site, but we all know that the majority of users are usually other domainers and that the chances of an actual end-user finding our domains amidst a sea of millions is slim. In essence, even our best attempts are nothing more than a shot in the dark. So how do we achieve the happiness that is an end-user sale? Or more importantly, consistently achieve this happiness?
