I've just kicked off my blog Name Topic with an article dedicated to my new approach for finding end-users. I know that the topic of nabbing the elusive end-user is near and dear to all of our hearts! :) I'm only posting this on NP, so I hope that you find it useful! I welcome all feedback and further discussion in this thread.

“Happiness is not best achieved by those who seek it directly” - Bertrand Russell

One of the most common problems I think that we all share as domainers is that when it comes to the concept of finding end-users, the practice and process is typically disjointed at best. We find ourselves in a unique position of having a valuable offering, yet no real way of introducing ourselves and our products to the end-user in a professional and friendly manner. We have no opportunity to establish respect and rapport. Of course, we do have the option of contacting prospective buyers via email or phone, but this provides no guarantee that the person we are contacting will be receptive or even in a position of authority to deal with such offers. We can list our domains for sale on an after market site, but we all know that the majority of users are usually other domainers and that the chances of an actual end-user finding our domains amidst a sea of millions is slim. In essence, even our best attempts are nothing more than a shot in the dark. So how do we achieve the happiness that is an end-user sale? Or more importantly, consistently achieve this happiness? Indirectly. .... <continued>

Totally agree with your message.

However it is quite a feat for us with less marketing skills to sell ourselves :)
Any tips appreciated :)

As I mentioned in the article, all you really need to do is be knowledgeable enough to help people. By doing this, you can demonstrate your expertise, inform people of what you do or offer and make contacts.

This isn't meant to be used as a stand alone approach to selling domains. But it can definitely help you build a network of possible end-users and ultimately could be your main source of sales.

I'm basically just starting out with this idea myself, so I invite anyone who is interested in this approach to PM me. Perhaps we can get a small group together and help each other with ideas and share experiences.
