Just a friendly observation here, but I tend to view it a bit differently. I fail to see how names not fitting the original purpose or initial creation of the .Org extension holds any true detriment, or any present day relevance. Especially given the directional changes of the Internet and Domaining in general. If anything, it helps bring new life and interest to what has long since been considered an otherwise stagnate and limited extension. The overall lack of chit chat here may leave this particular thread a bit dull and boring at times, but seems completely inconsequential.

While some names best fitting their respective extension's original creation purpose may still fare better than those which do not, at the end of the day the common internet user pays little or no attention to what is to the right of the dot. For some time now many .Org sales seem to have had nothing to do with the categories for which it was originally intended.

I have LVID - you could use the Vid for video and the L for load or live, or to be more imaginative you could use the LV for lovers and the ID as the id to make it "Lovers Id" from which a top innovative site could be developed!

I have CuresandRemedies.org, Have started to develop it into a affiliate site but maybe it could be used in an organisation.

Also I have GardenMaintenance.org Would make a great site for a gardening community where all gardeners come together to share tips, but unfortunatly I dont have time to develop it and know nothing about gardening

I've had success (not luck) with a 2-word generic. (Unfortunately can't elaborate at this time.) I've also invested in several LLLL.org as somewhat of a personal experiment. I believe there are still plenty of opportunities in the .org extension.

I regged a .ORG last week. I noticed it was dropping, and I have the matching .NET, and .INFO

I had been thinking the .INFO would be a forum, but now I am thinking the .ORG might be a better forum TLD.

and use the .NET for a related shopping site

I got a 9char generic word (an adjective). No plans of developing it but I'm planning to sell the domain itself. I just need a solid idea and information about its right price.

I tried estibot and and it calculated the value for $2600. But I guess it should be higher than that.
