As some may be aware, TRAFFIC Milan opening auction consisted of 50 .eu domains with a reserve price of EUR 500 , the following sold:

Didn't football.eu sell for a very large price? It was one of those Enom Sunrise doms snagged with a dodgy Belgian trademark. It will be interesting to see if the whois data changes. Most of the domains at auction were domain bubble junk domains - .com keyword style domains that the registrants thought (back then) that would do well in .eu ccTLD. Most of the .eu domains at auction at TRAFFIC Milan seemed to be passed over than sold. The .eu ccTLD is dead in the English speaking areas of the EU and most of the domains were English language keywords.

How old are these sales figures? They look great but after checking some of them there are only a few that are in use now. A few businesses (not many) and a few parking pages.

So are these ones that people have lost money on in the last great .co land rush?...or have they just not got around to doing anything with them ?

I only checked the following ones (could'nt be bothered to check them all but if I was investing in them (more than the $30 I spent) I would have.

Someone in another thread on a forum mentioned that most of those .CO sales on NameBio are actually typos of .COM, which would make sense because if you look at the whois many of those regs do not even exist in .CO and the ones that do mainly have 2010 creation dates.

All the .CO sales on there are from 2006. There is 1 sale between 2006 and O.co in 2010.

I am pretty sure that I read somewhere that the Colombian government put a hold on domain sales until after July 30, 2008 when they adopted the new "liberalized policies for the .CO domain"
That would explain the missing years of no sales records. Domain owners may have also been holding onto the domains in anticipation of the Colombian government opening the domain to the general public. Considering that its only really been open to the public for about 5 days now...
This is from what I read. I am only speculating on why there are no sales records for 4 years.

By the way, the typos on those old 2006 ".co" sales were not .com typos but .co.uk sales. Namebio had the data put in incorrectly.

I don't know but it could easily have been taobao inc. that were bidding on and maybe that's the reason it's so high.
