I think I started the first BQB.com auction ever. I'm not sure but it looks like it's up and running.

Has the escrow service been implemented yet?

I'm looking forward to it. :)

Not yet unfortunately.

There's a lot to look into and consider to make sure the escrow service is implemented correctly. It will only be offered for transactions under $500 once implemented (escrow.com being the recommended choice for larger transactions).

If I`m allowed, I`d really like to invite people to use www.MoneyBookers.com to pay the BQB.com auctions.

Much better than PayPal and cheapest escrow service around.

It`s my favourite payment.

Thanks

I second that Lorenzo. MB blows away PP as far as fees & protection goes. I would rather pay & accept MB anyday.

I've never actually used MB for a transaction. What are the benefits when compared to paypal?

Just to tell you that I am constantly REFUSING (and sometimes LOSING) transactions because buyers don`t use MB and are still using PayPal.

Benefits?

1) BETTER customer care service

2) NO chargebacks risks so safer transactions

3) cheaper escrow service (about 1 %) for the ones who prefer to use escrow.

And DON`T forget that PayPal DO NOT protect transactions of NON-Tangible items (such domains).

Just a note to Lorenzo's post to be cautious with Domain Sellers with MB
The no chargeback risk sometimes is a weapon for scams

Hi , yes I know that but did you read point number 3?

3) cheaper escrow service (about 1 %) for the ones who prefer to use escrow.

Problem SOLVED. :)

Yes, you can withdraw funds straight to your bank account just as quick as PayPal.

There's also the possibility to accept credit cards with a Merchant account through Moneybookers. They quoted me at 3.5% to process credit cards and 8% if I wanted chargeback protection. This gives the added convenience of not having to worry about escrow while still leaving a buyer the option to file a chargeback if they don't receive what they purchased. As an added bonus you can now sell to people who don't have Moneybookers accounts.

I greatly prefer Moneybookers myself -- their customer service is great and they actually go through the trouble to do security checks on accounts every few months to make sure they're still active and not hacked.

I don't agree.

I haven't heard that anyone got scammed when using Moneybookers. On the other hand, there were plenty scams where Paypal was involved. Even here on NP... especially on DP.

Paypal is the easiest way to scam on Ebay. If you are a buyer on Ebay you are fine, but once you start selling with Paypal, you might as well bend over. Personally the worst thing that Ebay ever did was buy Paypal. Now that everyone's brother, mom, and grandma are on Ebay, it is ridiculous.

Watch them buy moneybookers next !!

Not really true. I've been selling on eBay for 10 years and using PayPal since before eBay bought them and I've not had a single problem. Have also never had a problem trading domains on forums with PP either. There have been situations where I realized I was being scammed but easily avoided it. Gotta use that head and the gut.

I know some have had problems with PP - there are of course many horror stories - but I think bad judgement factors into LOTS of it. If unsure, make a phonecall. If the transaction is over a certain amount ask for Escrow and observe their reaction. Research the buyer (not just their feedback). If anything seems too "off" just don't transact. Etc.

Or maybe I have just been one of the lucky ones, who knows.

I do love and prefer MoneyBookers by the way, though. :)

And... I finally just made my first BQB purchases.. :sold: :tu:

As a buyer, Paypal is GREAT. As a seller however, exercising proper judgement is a must, as you've suggested below.

I had listed a few domains for sale recently accepting paypal as a payment method -- I wasn't expecting the same person to buy all the domains which amounted to over $3000. I voiced my concerns with the buyer and he happily agreed to pay by escrow. Other than someone who badly needs money in a hurry I really can't see many legitimate reasons for refusing to proceed through escrow provided the seller is willing to pay the escrow fee.

Congrats on your purchase :)

I've done a bit of maintenance on BQB -- the pages should load a bit faster now.

Hi Reece, how about that thing regarding contacting bidders prior the auction is over?

Cheers

I don't agree with your first comment. I have been scammed by a Trader who had over 150+ Positive feedbacks(no negative feedbacks).

Probably your second comment fits better.
