I just grabbed my first domain worth doing something with and really have no idea what the best plan of attack is for someone new to this industry like myself. It's not the greatest domain but it is a searched product in the stair industry.

stairstringers.com

I picked it up at NameJet and once purchased the domain went straight to Enom where it sits now doing nothing. Please throw out some ideas and step by step instructions that will help guide me through this.

Thanks in advance,

Lee

Your choices are:

1) Sell it.
2) Park it (try other places and optimize it to see if you can get it to earn something. But if it doesn't have any traffic, it has no chance of earning anything as it stands.
3) Develop it and put some kind of site on it.

I assume you paid what, about $70 at NameBet? (I know, but this domaining stuff is a lot like gambling and just as addictive...!)

So if you think of this as a business you have an initial investment of $70 and no business plan on how you are going to cover your costs, much less make a profit. It's not a bad domain, but it's not going to do much for you unless you decide how much time and energy you want to put into it.

I hope this is helpful. I started out the same exact way with worse domains... :)

you could also find a whole lot of companies in the industry and try to sell it to them direct. you should get a whole lot more money than to a fellow domainer having to look up what "stair stringers" are, and if there's a market for them.
