Well. It's all up in the air at the moment.Got the go ahead from RJ a while back and, if it was to happen it would be a number of months down the line. It's early but "propper planning prevents poor presentation" :lol:

To get the ball rolling, this time, i hope to get a lot more input.
So, i would appreciate it if you would reply with the answers to my questions below.

-> Do you want to see another?
-> If you attended the NSPCC charity event, how did you like it? What could be improved upon? Was it a success in your eyes? (Remember we donated over 600$ to the NSPCC!)

-> What charity do you think donations should go to? (+why?)

-> Would you like someone else in the driving seat (IE not myself / Flubber) If so who?

->And any other comments.

Thanks a lot.
I am still so impressed by the results of last time, so it would be a shame not to run another.

regards
Tom

I believe it should go to http://penhaligonsfriends.org.uk/ - They helped me (and are still helping me) cope with my dad passing away last September (2005). What they have done is amazing, if they didnt help, i wouldnt have any confidence at all. (and without confidence, i couldnt do what i am doing now). Penhaligons Friends takes us out on day trips, helps us by talking to others who are going though the same emotional pain as what we have, and follow up every event with a letter (containing a self-stamped) with a quick questionairre. They are the BEST at organizing and setting up new events. From what i have seen so far, i believe they need some money.

-> Would you like someone else in the driving seat (IE not myself / Flubber) If so who?

I wouldnt mind helping to do the event, since it is for a good cause that i know very well. I will donate at least 15 of my domains to the event too just so i can do my bit.

->And any other comments.

I wouldnt be on my forum today if penhaligon's friends didnt help.

Thanks,

Robert

Hopefully no more suggestions. I want mine to happen, it is unfortunate that not many people live in Cornwall on this forum.

Jks. I just want to see more suggestions because it might be more popular then.

Robert.

Sure

Don't allow any % sales. Only 100% Charity Auctions.

March of Dimes. Why? Read at www.MarchofDimes.com
-> Would you like someone else in the driving seat (IE not myself / Flubber) If so who?

-> Do you want to see another?

I would love to see another Charity Auction.

-> If you attended the NSPCC charity event, how did you like it? What could be improved upon? Was it a success in your eyes? (Remember we donated over 600$ to the NSPCC!)

It was as successful as an auction can be on such short notice :)

-> What charity do you think donations should go to? (+why?)

I think it would be great to have the auction supporting Christine's Foundation http://christine.site.ph/_mgxroot/page_10754.html

As so many here have been following her story and doing all that we can. This would be a nice group contribution to show our love and support to her and her family and friends.

-> Would you like someone else in the driving seat (IE not myself / Flubber) If so who?

I don't really care who does the actual auction, I would however like to see some sort of promotional committee to make sure the word gets out. I wouldn't mind being on this with another person.

->And any other comments.

hmmm whomever is the auctioneer really should arrive early so we can start on time. People support the charity auctions and will attend them, but lets not forget that most people also are taking time out of work or are working at the same time and there needs to be some respect for that ;)

I agree that there should not be a be a % donated it should be 100%.

Lastly, have the auction list available to view with the sales as they take place so that all can see the running total for the donated amount and have a separate account to send the funds to so there isn't any confussion.

Just bumped this after having a message asking about another one.

RJ- whats our time span now? Like, wait another few months, or get chugging along now and get it on in about a month?

Absolutely.

It had a slow start, but by the end a lot more bids came in...I think we need more hype to get the early names lots of bids, too! :)
-> What charity do you think donations should go to? (+why?)
NSPCC or animal cruelty. No animal or child deserves to be treated that way. :td:
-> Would you like someone else in the driving seat (IE not myself / Flubber) If so who?
I think you guys did a great job!
->And any other comments.
Here's to another successful auction! ;)

Anytime is good, Tom. I mean I'd suggest giving everyone at least a week's notice to get donations in and promotions on the forum, but otherwise its up to you. We can even pre-empt one of the weekly events to hold a special event. The scripts for the queue are already in place.

Thanks alot for your support RJ

People- a small update.
We have a date worked out, however i wont be posting this as it's still up in the air. However, we are looking at around a month.

This time it will be much better organised, and my PC WONT overheat (touch wood)

Hopefully we will have a swifter and faster start.
So far, it looks likely we are supporting Christine, however all input is still welcome

Tom
