The Next American Idol?

OK, for those who watch, who's the next American Idol?

I think Carrie Underwood was clearly emotional and nervous but still outsang favored Bo Bice.

I am definitely not a fan of Bice.. I find him average and boring, incapable of anything original.

Guess we'll know tomorrow.. if we can go by the audience reaction and judge's comments (or patent gushing, I should say), Bo will win. Carrie just didn't seem to get the same reaction from the audience.

Personally I think he's been hyped to death... he may have some initial success, but I don't believe he has any staying power, career-wise.

I thought Vonzell was great... but my fav's - Anwar (who melted me every time he sang) and Constantine were out too early.

I'm rooting for Bo of the two. Carrie is the better singer but she has no 'presence'. She's just very wooden in her performance.

My personal opinion aside...

Based solely on what we've seen from fans and judges, I think Bo will win. It seems to be his 'time'.

Also, I'm not sure any of the winners (past or present) have real staying power. Take away the hype, the first album sales (which is carried by that hype) and I have doubts that any of them are real superstars.

Talented? Yes! Superstars with longevity? Probably not.

I agree with -db- here. I think Bo has shown himself to be able to sing more of a variety where Carrie tends to have the same sound in all her songs. I don't think we need yet another country girl singer.

They're both talented, but I don't see either being a classic in 30 years. It could happen, though.

Hm, I disagree.. I think this year's saw some of the most talented.. I also think Carrie could potentially have a lasting career.. tho admittedly, I preferred Vonzell's stage presense.

Since it comes down to America's vote (supposedely), Bo has the edge since he's more of a rocker, whereas Carrie is more country and I think the voting audience is more into Bo's style...

I was just speaking on this specific show dave,No doubt there has been some outstanding talent,Josh Gracin may be the most famous of all and didn't even win,But carrie no doubt has a promising future in country music,Tons of competetion though imo.

Bo is more interesting. He is new. We dont need anymore singers.What we need is new. Not traditional singers. We also need new rap artists. The current ones like 50 cent and Lil John are boring me.
