American Idol: Vote for the WORST! Such a funny idea!

SpaceshipSpaceship
Watch
It may seem a little bit cruel, but people who seek fame in such a public venue deserve to get knocked down every now and again. It gives them some perspective on life. If you want to sing, sing. You don't need a crowd of millions to do it.

So, with that said, VOTE FOR THE WORST!

We're back! Votefortheworst.com was started in 2004 to support voting for the entertaining contestants who the producers would hate to see win on American Idol. Why do we do it? During the initial auditions, the producers of Idol only let certain people through. Many good people are turned away and many bad singers are kept around to see Simon, Paula, and Randy so that America will be entertained.

Now why do the producers do this? It's simple: American Idol is not about singing at all, it's about making good reality TV and enjoying the cheesy, guilty pleasure of watching bad singing. We agree that a fish out of water is entertaining, and we want to acknowledge this fact by encouraging people to make an even funnier show by helping the amusing antagonists stick around. VFTW sees keeping these contestants around as a golden opportunity to make a funnier show.

This site used to carry a little more weight with the voting (remember that Scott slob?: http://www.answers.com/topic/scott-savol ), but that Antonella and Sundance were their last picks and they got voted off. I thought the site was funny until Sanjaya got through, though. That guy needs to go. Not that I watch the show or anything...

Once Sanjaya got passed through tonight over Brandon, I knew the jig was up... That guy is terrible imo. Terrible.

I think Doolittle is going to do much...I like Chris Sligh too...I think he looks like the "fat" Jack Osbourne, don't you?

:bingo:

I honestly can't believe he even made the top 12. He's awful, but it's all of the young girls keeping him in the competition. I occasionally check the message boards at AmericanIdol.com to see what everyone's talking about and it seems to be all very young girls voting for and supporting Sanjaya. Not sure what's so great about him.

I think Lakisha and Melinda are the front-runners, but Jordin is also very good for her age. It upsets me that people don't vote based on the singing, as very good singers are going home before he is. Brandon was 100 times better (so is Stephanie and everyone else).
He's by far the weakest singer. :|

But American Idol is very addictive, it sucks you in. I've been watching since the start of Season 1 and can't wait for each Tuesday and Wednesday so I can get my Idol fix. :D

If This vote for the worst thing got out of hand it clearly states in Idols Rules that the can change the rules at any time. :)

Its not even to sure how much the voters play a role in who wins. But it does get ratings

If it's not VFTW, then I must be way out of touch with 12 y.o. girls :p

Can't believe Sanjaya got through again. He wasn't even the bottom three. Someone with a little more time than me.... please make a site called DontVoteForSanjaya.com and buy advertising on Disney's forums with a banner saying "Don't Vote for Sanjaya...He hates The Little Mermaid".

How many times did they show that crying little girl? I think she got more air time than Ryan Seacrest.

What if she was a shill and, along with the three "judge's" positive comments, were meant to be a little bit of reverse psychology to undermine VFTW efforts?

Well, if VFTW wants to advance the person that America least likes, why not make sure that America is portrayed as liking Sanjaya, therefore removing him from the sites of VFTW?

Can't you see that turd Simon hatching that lame plot? He is going to be another William Hung, but this time Simon will have an interest in his fame, not like with William Hung. That had to piss him off.

Anyway, that's my little conspiracy theory. :p

He is finally gone.
I had my wife take a picture of me in front of the TV raising my hands up and screaming with delight when Mojayahawk was kicked off. I wonder how he went from not being in the bottom three EVER to being kicked off.

I really think that the producers had fun with the idea for about a minute and then drafted a plan to get rid of him. Their sense of humor expired.

My wife said they were worried that he might actually win and were "scrambling" to make a song that he could actually sing and sell. Looks like their worries are over though.

yeah...I don't know if the kid got the joke and was just having as much of his 15 min. as he could take, or if he is unaware that he was the joke.

They interviewed him on the local news here, and he basicly said he didn't care what others think. So he probably knew of the joke, but not the full extent of it.

Between the workup and rehersals, I'd imagine they are sequestered to some extent.
