What are your comments on their changed keywords tool page?

For me it works much slower, and takes more time to find the results I was specifically searching for...
... first Sedo whacks out their site into a slower and more annoying functionality, and poor use of on screen real estate, and now it looks like the Adwords keyword tool is following suit. What's with all these 'upgrades', can't such huge companies make upgrades actually faster and easier instead of slower and clunkier? Excuse me for ranting :)

How does it work for you?

You mean the one "in beta"?

Found the initial site load to be a patience game, but once it is up it seems to be alright on my end. For the rest, one probably has to get used to it, haven´t done enough searches yet to feel good or bad about it.

As the company grows the updates get slower. It takes time to get the command and OK's from the top of the chain.

I like the old version better too.

Was easier to get stuff done.

This needs you to login to see certain relevant info... not too happy about it.

Old version had a 300 keyword limit; new one looks to be 100. >:(

Not liking it at all. Having difficulty finding the old one, so I guess it's out of beta.

It's not just a cosmetic redesign some of the old functionality seems to be missing ie the ability to select "exact" or "phrase". Can anyone confirm that or have I just gone temporarily blind?

I'm in agreement that I preferred the old Sedo interface as well. Maybe I'm just stubborn.

Is this a bug or not?

"Zaragoza flight" gives 49.500 exact searches per month

while

"Houston flight" gives 1.000 exact searches per month

Just insert random european / american city and the american city always has like 50 times less searches than the european ones. What is the cause of this? A bug or is the data correct?

I've been kicking the tires on this since I posted about it Tuesday. Lots of nice new metrics if you're an Adwords advertiser (the intended audience).

If you're using it "off label" - there are things to like about it if you're developing site content. Domainers won't like the lower keyword limit OR the fact that it no longer seems to have an option for getting info about the keywords you put in and ONLY those keywords, especially if you enter a big list.

That could be a bug though. Very likely there are bugs - it's in beta.

You HAVE gone blind :). Do a search - you'll see those options in the lower left column. I kind of like that you can return phrase match and exact match together.

just used it for some keyword ideas on a new site and not crazy about it, may grow on me but as of now wish the old one was still there.

I've wondered why the US city/flight searches are so low as well, people flying to Houston may be more inclined to just type in 'Expedia' instead of city/flight maybe???. North American cities tend to show higher search volume for city/flights (plural) where as European cities generally show higher for city/flight (singular). Those results are consistent with what was coming up before the new adwords came out.

As for the new platform, I don't like it. I've been clicking on the option to use the old tool and staying with what I am comfortable using.

Old version by a mile.

How do you limit results in the new tool to only the keyword you put in the box?

In the old tool there is a box you can click - "Don't show ideas for new keywords. I only want to see data about the keywords I entered."

If you expand the "advanced options" area there's a box for "Ideas containing my search terms" - however that's not quite the same and it still gives you additional results. And try feeding it a long list of diverse search terms and checking that box - whenever I do that I get nothing! YMMV.

There's also no option for "include adult content". Some marginally-adult searches return a LOT of results when you check that box though none of them are what I consider "adult". They return only the term itself on the new keyword tool, so I'm guessing that option's gone...

Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't see it before.

FYI the old version is still up: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

The old tool usually gave me 150 - 200 results for a search, the new one gives 100... when you aren't logged in. Log in to Adwords and then use the tool, it gives you 800 results (at least for the search I did). Personally I like the new tool better.

However, the CPC numbers on the new tool is scaring me. For example, "car insurance" is reporting $33.18 est. avg. CPC on the new tool, but on the old tool it is $14.82. Pretty big difference, especially when you're using that data for a domain purchase. Wonder which one is correct, if any.
