From 9 May the European Parliament, along with the other EU institutions, has a new address for its website and for email. It is changing domain to .eu from .int. But why is the website's new name europarl.europa.eu?
"eu" is the brand new European domain, launched last month.
"europa" is a second level domain common to the websites of all EU institutions and bodies.
"europarl" is the name of the European Parliament's website.
The new address is being launched on Europe day - 9 May. The old address will remain valid for a year before disappearing.
