Welcome to the first ever NamePros Rock Paper Scissors Championship!

It's one of the most popular games of the world: Rock Paper Scissors. The rules are pretty simple. You choose one of the three weapons and hope that it beats the weapon of your opponent. Rock smashes scissors. Scissors cut paper. Paper covers rock.

A match in this tournament will consist of 11 rounds of throwing. The person who wins more rounds, wins the match. If there's a draw in a knock-out match, the match will be decided via sudden death (next winning round wins the match). The players have to sent me their moves via PM till the respective deadline.

The structure of the tournament will be probably like the World Cup finals with a group stage and a knock-out stage, but depends on the number of participants. If there are less than 8 participants, it'll be a round-robin-tournament. The structure will be posted after the end of registration. There'll be presumably 2 matches a week.

If you want to participate, post something like "count me in" in this thread, so I know how many people want to join the tournament. The registration will be open till Friday, March 28, 6PM EST. Registration has been closed

You don't have to pm me your moves yet, as there is no schedule yet, but it's possible. The first deadline will be announced after the registration has closed.

The winner of this tournament will be crowned NamePros Rock Paper Scissors Champion and will be awarded also the mind-blowing, overwhelming prize of NP$50.... NP$500... NP$750... NP$1000 ... NP$1250! (omg!) (thanks to the kind generosity of Etab, Trips No Limit, vatsan and Irieman). The winner will get also a trophy icon for his profile! (Thanks to -RJ-)

Yep, just send me 11 moves for each deadline... you could also send the same moves for each match, but I guess your opponents would discover that

First of all, thank you all for joining my little tournament. I hope you will enjoy it

As you already know the first prize will be NP$1250 (thanks to Etab, Trips No Limit, vatsan, Irieman and a donkey called loser). I've decided to throw in another NP$1260. So, the payout structure will be as follows:

#1: NP$1250
#2: NP$560
#3: NP$280
#4: NP$140
#5: NP$70
#6: NP$70
#7: NP$70
#8: NP$70

We've got 28 players (:tu which will be divided into 4 groups of 7 players. Each group will hold a round robin, where a win is worth 3 points,a draw 1 point and a defeat 0 points. The ranking will be decided by: points, difference of rounds won and lost, rounds won, points won among tied players, result against #1 of the group, result against #2 of the group, ..., result against #7 of the group. In the unlikely event that the players are still tied, a decisive match will take place.

For each group match the player has to send me 11 new moves until the announced deadline. If a players fails to send his moves for a match, he'll lose the match 0:11. Should both players of a match send no moves, both will lose 0:11. Only the first submission for each match counts, later changes will be ignored.

A new moveset is required for each match at the group stage.

The four group winners will automatically qualify for the quarter final, the second and third (8 players) of each group will play one knockout round with the winners joining the group winners in the quarter final.

A knockout (or Best of X) match will consist of at least 11 rounds. If the match is tied after 11 rounds, it will go into sudden death, with the next winning round deciding the match. (therefore some more moves should be send, pref. at least 5 more)

(I've not yet decided, if at the knockout it'll be Best Of 1, 3 or 5. Comments and opinions are appreciated.)

The deadline for the first match is Tuesday, 1st April, 10PM GMT.
