phoo sold today on TDNAM for $2027.
Am I missing something ?
Missing Out!
C'mon Fantasy, Phoo is obviously the next big phad. With other ph names to phollow. Everybody is doing it... (jk)
IMO this sale is a great sign for our niche (among others). Brandable LLLL.coms are hot, CVCV or not.
I think SN upping their minimum to $19 is another indication that the bottom is solidifying and there should be no more talk of a buyout failure. I'm sure they recognize the amount of names selling on tdnam for $20 minimum, and want their piece of the pie to be just as phat.
The buyout has held folks, and I would say that it will hold going forward provided the world is still spinning. Shorter is better, remember?
Quite a few names are going to market, as some domainers leave the business, but all are getting bought quickly, or snapped up as soon as they are dropped.
Sure, some names aren't going to be as hot as phoo --- at least not for some time --- but...
1) there are so many markets in the world opening up to (high speed) internet
2) more and more business is going mobile (where short really matters)
3) dotcom domains are still number one the world over
So I can't see how short dotcom domains are going to lose out in the long run.
I'm not an optimist in general, but I think the LLLL.coms are a far stronger market than some of the naysayers would claim.
I admit, there was a time where I wasn't too sure whether the buyout could withstand the general market downturn, but it was never a question of market fundamentals. A LLLL.com buyout was all but inevitable as long as dotcom remained dominant and more people/companies entered the marketplace looking for an acquisition. It was just a question of when. Now it seems clear that we are past the point of collapse.
I don't expect everyone to buy my side of the story (or to buy in to the LLLL.com market). In phact, I expect one or two people to say, phoo-E.
Well, you're entitled to your opinion. That's phine. We'll see how this plays out, okay?
I've got my chips on the table, and IMO I'm looking at a good hand.
Cheers to the buyer of phoo. I only hope they have an even bigger budget and are actively looking for other acquisitions. More great sales to follow...
