Hello, I think it would be pretty useful to keep track of all LLLL.com sales , even the little ones under $100 so that , pretty soon , when the available LLLL.com will be finished , we`ll have a better idea on market prices.

It is important that these sales are confirmed. So before to post, make sure payment went OK.

I will start with todays` Sedo confirmed sales:

FISE.com 2,700 Euros
TSRT.com US $760
VEUP.com US $1,700

Also, I found interesting to see this average LLLL, getting bids up to $51 and reserve not me. It says it all.

Don't forget TransAM (TransAmerica), too.....'AM' for 'America' is quite common.

AMYP.com could be for 'AmericasYoungPeople'......Or, 'AmericanYouthPolitics'......Or, even 'AmericanYuppie'.....LOL

'AM' could be short for 'Amazon', too....a brandable for them......'AmazonYesPlease'...!!??......LOL

What about 'AM' for 'AMIGO'...?

Or...

....of course, AM could be for the Amish folks......So, AMYP could be: 'AMishYesteryearPeople'....:)

AM Yellow Pages

noy.com beat ya to that one, toilet monster! :)

I guess I was off on my assessment of it as a safe/viable acronym use for amyp, as others agree it's a good one.... my bad, noy. I myself would have leaned in the Amy P. direction as well though, since there ARE search results for it and not a problem with TM's etc as 'might' be the case with yellow pages..... all great idears.

CDVD just ended at TDNAM for $1010

I didn't think it would go that high.

I recently sold Sizo(dot)com to an end user for Mid $X,XXX. That is another CVCV off the market.

Does anybody know what <aart> sold for on tdnam? I was watching, but took too long to refresh!

(I decided not to bid because of the weird whois data... didn't want to risk picking up a stolen domain.)

Congrats bmugford! SIZO is a good one, but I'm glad to see it sold for at least mid $X,XXX. Hopefully you got a nice return :)

Thanks Fantasy! Not as high as I thought it might go...

Average sale prices on eBay during January were well down on December's prices. Here's an analysis of trends over the past 12 months. As always, I've excluded domains selling for more than $100 as I consider them outliers on eBay. All averages below are based on trendlines calculated from weekly figures, so smoothing out irregularities.

Over the past 12 months mean prices fell at an average rate of about $0.16 a month, a total of $1.90 over the period. The trend showed a drop from $14.74 to $12.84, which is a drop of 14% based on the midpoint.

Over the past 9 months mean prices rose at an average rate of about $0.81 a month.

Over the past 6 months mean prices rose at an average rate of about $1.25 a month.

Over the past 3 months mean prices fell at an average rate of about $1.82 a month.

Monthly means were -

February $20.13
March $17.47
April $14.83
May $13.39
June $8.57
July $8.61
August $9.09
September $11.98
October $10.59
November $18.03
December $18.12
January $13.91

Average remaining registration rose very slightly over the 12-month period. This rise adds about 1 cent to the monthly price drop, bringing the effective price drop up to about $0.17 a month.

Average domain quality rose slightly over the 12-month period. This rise adds about 10 cents to the monthly price drop, bringing the effective price drop up to about $0.27 a month.

I don't usually post weekly means as they normally show a lot of fluctuation. However, I'll make an exception this month as prices have fallen steadily over the past six weeks. Here are the means -

December week 2 $19.50
December week 3 $18.79
December week 4 $18.19
January week 1 $16.94
January week 2 $14.57
January week 3 $12.76
January week 4 $11.49

These figures present an even blacker picture than the monthly means.

One possible explanation for this drop goes as follows - A certain eBay buyer was bidding on almost every domain, starting in early September, and winning a substantial proportion. She stopped buying in January - my last sale to her was on the 17th. At about the same time a new SnapNames buyer started bidding on LLLL domains, and winning a substantial proportion. The eBay and SnapNames usernames are different, but I suspect they are the same person. This might at least partly explain the recent drop.

Finally, sales volume on eBay has been substantially down over the past week, probably because of the poor realisations recently. Sales volume is variable but has averaged around 120 domains a week over the past year. Sales during the first week of February were down to just 38 domains.

If you look at some of the premium sales it is pretty clear the market is weakening. LLL.com looks to have been on the slide aswell. I would put the explanation down to fresh turbulance in stock markets and perhaps the realisation by some that despite a fresh start to the year the old issues remain.

I guess the big question is, With a name worth not much more than reg fee just how long will people keep renewing before they get sick of it?

As I said in another thread I think the domain market generally is at the crossroads right now. The next few months is crucial. If we hit summer and the market still hasn't improved then look out.

fantastic name ) combining both cd and dvd in 4 letter combination is super. I'd pay higher.

PS regarding sizo.com: sizo means detention center in Russian, siz means "you" in Turkish.

I have to agree. I also see that the prices are not going anywhere on the resale level. This year will not be easy if it continues like this. Be prepared to have a good variety of revenue sources, otherwise you might end up in a tough situation. On the other hand it also means that if you can afford you'll be able to pick up good domains at very low levels. Lately I've been buying product type of domains for really funny prices..

The market is weakening?

Which movie was that?

It seems to me that everybody but you are increasing exposure to LLLL.com while LLL.com have ups and downs.

Now we have BuyDomains shopping at GoDaddy auctions for LLLL.com too...but you did not see that, right?

Maybe we should drop all our domains...after all that`s what it seems you want to achieve.

The economy and its problems are there, we are just watching the shift of economic power from the Usa to the BRIC markets....it will take another decade probably to complete.

Still internet population is rising and will keep rising...while your posts keep telling everybody here is a fool.

Why don`t you spend your time making some analysis of developed websites percentage out of the whole LLLL.com and LLL.com ?

There are many people out there regging useless domains and useless extensions, do you ever go and bash them too or you just have a thing for short .com names?

I would really love to know all the domains you have...I think I would find some big surprises there. And I mean the ones under all your aliases...

There are a few sites which keeps increasing their LLLL.com portfolio and their prices are quite high.

I have never read you bashing those sites. That alone makes me think your goal in this forum.

Please, show some real data to justify why we should drop all our domains so at least I can realize how fool I have been.

Thank you
