Hello, I think it would be pretty useful to keep track of all LLLL.com sales , even the little ones under $100 so that , pretty soon , when the available LLLL.com will be finished , we`ll have a better idea on market prices.

It is important that these sales are confirmed. So before to post, make sure payment went OK.

I will start with todays` Sedo confirmed sales:

FISE.com 2,700 Euros
TSRT.com US $760
VEUP.com US $1,700

Also, I found interesting to see this average LLLL, getting bids up to $51 and reserve not me. It says it all.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I received a mid $xxxx offer for my LLLL.com. What do you think guys? Should I make a counter offer or wait until I get a better offer?

Mid XXXX is a good price imo, but it depends entirely on the letters.

A,E, even I might be OK, but u and V are very very hard, I think
Is there a reason why the chinese avoid vowels & the letter V? Would appreciate if you could briefly explain or share a helpful source for knowing more about this.
Thanks!

I have to disagree with the "No Vowel" mentality. I currently bought one within the last couple of weeks that I feel I got for a fantastic price. I bought K U A Y . C O M from a member here.

This domain was registered in 2002. This is a fully pronounceable word that sounds like KWAY when spoken.

I agree.

The opportunity is where people aren't chasing the money. Look at the past trends, then think of 2 or 3 possible trends that can emerge with 4L combos and buy those cheap while everyone else is worrying about wether or not there are vowels or a V in a domain.

One of my first purchases was a 4L with two paired letters that I bought for $5k, and I sold it for $10k. I know 4L's are profitable, but if you are buying with the trends it can be expensive.

If you are buying exclusively to sell to the Chinese market then follow the wise advice of those that know what a top 4L would be for a Chinese buyer.

I'm not a big 4L buyer, but my favorite ones that I do own that would fit the Chinese market is SSWK.

What will happen when those domains without vowels and without V drys out.
Chinese buyers are also interested in name with A and E in it. They hate V the most and then U I O.
If you are buying right now its a good time to buy what you can hold for another 6 months and it might just double.

I think they will double without a doubt.

difficult to say LLLL.COM is a strange market but they are not minting any more LLLL.COM so the supply is shrinking ...

Classic supply and demand scenario. Unless we see another crash of the financial system I would say LLLL.coms are on the rise

Yup, simple economics. There are only 23,751 possible combinations of LLLL, including repeated letters. That is a whole lot less than the world's people population of 7+ billion.

So, you are special if you own one. :xf.grin:

There is actually 456,976 possible combinations of LLLL domains.
26 x 26 = 676
26 x 676 = 17,576
26 x 17,576 = 456,976

Simply because no Chinese Pinyin words starts from 'V' 'I' 'U' or 'O', And few words starts from the other vowels.

We had this argument in 2007 and sadly I see it is still debated due mainly to ignorance and self-fulfilling sterorypes spread by non academic sources which keep saying that the letter U is not "premium".

Thanks to the internet, a simple search can lead to the truth, based on statistical evidence.

It is surely already said but I can't find where..
Why LLLL.COM names have nice value if they have no vowels but a couple of following consonants?
Example CTTS.com
Thanks

i am just taking a guess here but perhaps because that makes them more rare/unique

Because there's no/limited amount of words in Chinese that starting with 'v" or vowels. And most demand for these names right now comes from China.

At DropCatch auction:

oomi.com $130,650.00

Three bidders battling it out to the end. No doubt one of them was the smart home company.
