Hello, I think it would be pretty useful to keep track of all LLLL.com sales , even the little ones under $100 so that , pretty soon , when the available LLLL.com will be finished , we`ll have a better idea on market prices.

It is important that these sales are confirmed. So before to post, make sure payment went OK.

I will start with todays` Sedo confirmed sales:

FISE.com 2,700 Euros
TSRT.com US $760
VEUP.com US $1,700

Also, I found interesting to see this average LLLL, getting bids up to $51 and reserve not me. It says it all.

Oh wow, very nice :)

If they were mine, I would have split them up into 7 auctions -- one for the LLLL.coms with 1-3 premium letters, two for the quad premiums, and QEZY, SQQQ, EOEI, EKED sold separately.

These kind of mixed quality lots never seem to sell well..

Yeah, its stupid to list such great names in a lot.

Eked alone is a nice 4 figure name imho, dictionary llll.com has to be rare.

Guess we'll know soon enough :)

That was sweet. I was watching it hover around $500 for the longest time.
I agree it was a poor job of listing, with all those goodies hidden in there.

Bare in mind that the Afternic sales are likely end-users and not resellers.

Yes but Spade, why it doesn't make sense when people run around like headless chickens shouting "the sky is falling the sky is falling" :p when prices dip slightly.

One end user sale could cover your entire portfolio and end users dont really care about 'letter quality'.

Why i'm holding onto most of my llll.com portfolio, i'd rather sell one a year to an end user than all of them for reseller pricing even now. Or even when the so called buy out falls, my names are not dependent on the buy out holding, but purchased for individual brandability.

Looks like one big bird gobbled up all three shortly after posting. I've seen lots available for reg. recently, including the Vagz I picked up yesterday. None are around for too long though.

SYFY.com sold for $250,000 -- full story on TheDomains.com
Neat story. Me and my bro were just talking about that name yesterday and wondering how much it sold for. I think I would have been perfectly fine with that price; Syfy.com is not near as nice as something like Candy.com or Toys.com like the blogger said. Thanks for the link

You're welcome Daniel. Even knowing who the buyer was, I'm a bit surprised he'd be disappointed with $250k. I do question why NBC would go with SYFY.com when they already own SciFi.com but I'm not going to complain about another LLLL.com finding an end user :)

Yes but Spade, why it doesn't make sense when people run around like headless chickens shouting "the sky is falling the sky is falling" :p when prices dip slightly.

To say prices have "dipped slightly" is hardly an accurate description of the market.

Why i'm holding onto most of my llll.com portfolio, i'd rather sell one a year to an end user than all of them for reseller pricing even now. Or even when the so called buy out falls, my names are not dependent on the buy out holding, but purchased for individual brandability.

Is your model profitable? At the end the day that is what counts.

The sky is falling. And I'm catching:wave:

Assuming the whole world doesn't fall apart, these are good investments imho. If the world does fall apart, it won't matter much which way we are invested.

If I had owned SYFY I would not have thought it had much value as an acronym for Sci-Fi. This is why some people put such huge values on all their names - you do not get gold if you ask for brass.

SYFY can be trademarked, apparently an important issue to the buyers, a point we should remember as sellers.

You dont see me shouting. =)

However, I also did not invest heavily in LLLL.com. I bought a select few to tuck in my pocket (some for resale when I knew I could make a quick buck). I also was able to renew the portfolio today at $2.14 per domain today thanks to Godaddy =) which makes it a very affordable investment.
