For the first time Namecake.com has had an outside writer talk about their views for the future of domaining. The article is titled: are you ready for the implosion of domaining.

The writer is Seabass from Namepros, who is one of the most experienced and successful domainers out there.
It's not a happy read but i do think it's important.

Article can be found at:

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Just Remember that this is not a fact but this is there opinion. There are many domainers that are saying that its going to come back to what is was.

Its true that there will the the usual drops especially for new TLDs, like Dot Asia. However, top keywords will not drop and landrush registrations have until mid 2010. By then markets will have rebound.

The worse is probably Jan-Feb 2009.
To say that parking companies goes out of business, and implying many domainers go out of business is rubbish. Why? Domainers are investors, meaning they don't make their livings off parking. And parking doesn't pay. Sure there are these old timer experts like SEABASS who holds on a wealth of high traffic portfolios, and its true that your typical domainers don't hold them.

Who will this effect? The biggest players with the most useless domains. For newbies and regular domainer, they do not make their income from parking. I don't think we will see the small players drop like flies as predicted.

Agree'dbut why is there a bunch of people getting into this as a quick buck. Domaining isnt a quick buck anymore. Investing is where its at.

I think the people new to this business are the ones who are really going to suffer. I used to sell quite a few names on the forums. That has now complketely dried up - from what i see domainers hands are staying firmly in their pockets.
