i love .tv. and like said in another thread, .tv is not a type in deal- it is a branding deal. so many people have bought names that with some imagination, can produce viable and productive brands-.

and even if you have an idea for the site, often times someone may offer up a different spin on things, opening new doors for you.

for .tv to not just survive, but flourish as a working part of the internet community. so i would like to use this thread as a creative think tank- to help each other with unique ideas for names we might not know how to best use them!

i have slackers.tv could be a great site for "clerks movie" type videos etc and just guys who dont like the rat race lol.

Any name can be branded with dot tv. Advertisefree.tv is can be great as a new medium for classified ads on video.

Institutions.tv - call me nuts but i see this site hosting individual video blogs- each person signs up for a padded cell account, and if the blog is popular, they get rewarded by viewers with efood and ewater-

not kidding- would be cool as heck if done right-

look at the new site bodis. had he asked, before he developed- hey, what do ya'll think about the name bodis for a parking place- i can just bet how many would have been like- well, why that name? but after a bit of branding, much of it word of mouth, ALL YOU KNOW about bodis, is that it is the new parking site- not that it is a weird name-

so i do believe, with alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll my heart, that with a little imagination, you can relly make any of these names rock- shoot, look at pool.com! hos NOTHING to do with pool or pools! yes, it is a pool of names, but that is the farthest stretch for that generic name-
so institutions- personal video blogs



slackers- cool branding name- the slackers is a music group-its alos a movie- obviously others thought it was cool too- have you seen this?? http://www.slackersconvention.com/

Old Man

OK...not only have I regged another TV...I also when against my norm and regged a name I'm not sure what I'll do with. My typical agenda is to pick names I have an idea to develop on. So what did I do? I regged OldMan.tv. The real reason I took it was it seems as if it has a pretty good Ovt, lot's of google results and all other major tld's taken. I have no particular idea in mind though. Thought this group would be ones to ask!

but then i did some google lookin- 33 million, in quotes- used alot as a descriptive verse, is a neil young song- lots goin on with old men


funny, i would not use it tho as a site about "old men" for some reason- not in general anyways- maybe. it would be a cool tribute site, to those who have done their time and wear the wrinkles of experience- like mick jagger! others too, authors, actors, singers, etc... many are older now, still kickin that would be a cool site- video of then with all they were doin in their glory days, and now-

I too was quite surprised at not only the "google", but over 31k ovt for "old man"? Seems like the majority of results are for adult. What's wrong with this world? :o

Any other thoughts?

What about a site about how not to become the stereotypical 'Old Man'

Shows examples of 60 yr old+ men who are acting and sometimes looking much younger, being active, having 20 year old girlfriends...etc

Could do features on thing to do in order to avoid being a 'Old Man'

For example:

Viagra (No explanation needed)
Cosmtic surgery (latest options for older men)
Fashion (Highlight colthing to keep you looking younger)​

And next to each of these features you can advertise products relates to each market by using Affiliates.

Could be fun if you made it light hearted, good luck.

Your post reminds me of seeing Dick Lebeau last night (Steelers Defense Coach for those of you going... Huh?) This guy looks to be 50-ish and the announcers were saying he'll be turning 70 this year.

Slacks for lazy people. Pull a string, they are formal, release the string, they are casual.

Other than that, it could be a product that helps people be lazy in some form, it combines a process of several common steps into one button or zipper.

well, i think that one kinda speaks foritself- its a nme that is really telling you what should be inside- to have videos on say, how to clip your bulldogs nails, it wouldnt work very well-


ps- i cant get used to bulldog so i might keep calling you showbiz
