i love .tv. and like said in another thread, .tv is not a type in deal- it is a branding deal. so many people have bought names that with some imagination, can produce viable and productive brands-.

and even if you have an idea for the site, often times someone may offer up a different spin on things, opening new doors for you.

for .tv to not just survive, but flourish as a working part of the internet community. so i would like to use this thread as a creative think tank- to help each other with unique ideas for names we might not know how to best use them!

Begins can work great paired with a permanent type slogan- like-

i also see it as an information site for new moms-
Motherhood- it all begins here....

Could also be used as a teaser type site, maybe showing the beginning/trailers of video clips, paragraphs from book, articles, etc.

Then if someone is more interested in something specific - maybe they can follow a link to find more info. This might also work well if used with various affiliate schemes.

Make it into a classifieds type site.

I am kind of in the same boat with you on this one, as I registered FreeClassifieds.tv a few months ago. I was planning to use it as a classified type site, but with video content. I have searched around for some various classified scripts and programs, but haven't found anything yet that I think will work well. When I find something interesting, I would be more than happy to pass on the info to you.

see- that report is exactly what i was trying to say when people said they saw no value in names not related to tv- THESE are the people who will buy some name like egyptlamps.tv, and sell their product lines!

the free ad sites above- once you find a way for a viewer to upload a video for the site- then yes free classifieds are the way to go- start establishing video ads this way- you can make it a choice for the client- free classified TEXT ads with a picture, like craigslist, and charge a small fee for a video upload- as an upgrade- remember, just because it i a tv domain does not mean you have to give away the baby with the bath water-

I will have to try and watch that BBC clip at home, cos on my pc here in the office, it doesnt seem to play.

Smash, your reply regarding free video ads was great. It is something I definately think has potential in the future. For example, someone looking to buy a second hand car. Wouldn't it be better for them to watch a small video of the car, rather than viewing a few images which could have easily been fixed up in Photoshop.

If anyone knows of a classified ads script or program, that can be modified, please let me know.

I'm surprised there isn't a band out there called Slang, or a movie by that name.

actually i would love to see an urban clothing line called slang- not that i am telling you to open a clothing line-

but a name like that does not have to mean what it is- it "could" be a social networking site- when i think slang, i think talking.... and i see it as a cool brandable then, not using the actual true meaning
