A brand must be BUILT. It is not something that can just be created overnight. This process most often involves the parallel development of the brand through marketing and the development of the business. If you talk about branded domains, there most always will be a business behind it... or at least the good will of the business.

For example, KB Toys bought eToys.com for 3.4 million. This included all intellectual assets (not product) including the domain.

What does this have to do with brandable domains being valuable, for one "etoys.com" is a keyword domain, it isn't a made up term. Secondly the entire company was sold for $8 million after $164 million had been invested so its a pretty bad example of how to create value.

In essence what were saying is '$1.75m for type in traffic of wireless.com'.. And thats worth this amount of money... ?

To start with the new owner would need to recoup $100k p/a minimum in order to better what theyd have gotten at the bank.....

Someday the word "wireless" will have lost its glimmer such as "horseless" when they began marketing cars. The owner is obviously in a financial position to take that risk. Shame though, another million dollar baby would of been nice.

Gee. WirelessDownload.com You get two great domain names- wireless.com and download.com- that's two, I repeat, two for the price of one. And just look at what wireless.com is going for, at this other auction! Wow! Really gets the blood pumping. Better act now!
