I see a lot of questions here about the Google Sandbox, here's a link that explains all about it: http://www.seochat.com/c/a/Google-Optimization-Help/Google-Sandbox-Frequently-Asked-Questions/

To sum it up, the Google sandbox filters new domains, ranking them low in the results, regardless of content, quality, incoming links, PageRank, and so on. Your site will not rank well for any competitive terms, and a lot of the time, not even in very non-competitive phrases. It is thought to be a mechanism to fight spam sites.

it does not filter new websites as much as it filters new domains. If you create a brand new website on an old domain then you should find that it ranks pretty quickly still.

Sorry, I interchange those 2 words sometimes.

Thanks, I just edited the post, you are absolutely right.

Yep Amnezia is spot on, if your domain has history, it can almost get away with blue murder. The Sandbox is horrible to be in, but fun to get out of. If you use correct SEOt echniques, you can cut down your stay easily.

Yeah man I was in sandbox for one of my sites. It took me 1 year and 8 months to get myself out of it. And when I got out I had PR 5.
