Everybody loves a good conspiracy theory...

Except that I think there's more going on here. Two days ago I initiated a transfer-in to a "DomFam" registrar -- away from GoDaddy -- and authorized the transfer straightaway with the gaining registrar. But -- whereas in the past, ALWAYS, when this happened I could expect an email from GoDaddy very soon after, often within minutes. However, this time I received NO emails from GoDaddy confirming my transfer-away request. I found this to be strange, but even stranger since at least one of the domains was sitting at GoDaddy awaiting transfer approval by me. Yet still no email notification. I find this even more suspicious as the domain was about to exit grace period. Move ahead to today, when I receive a renewal receipt from GoDaddy on another domain which was already pending renewal. And which also just happened to be sitting in my control panel awaiting approval. But I was unaware because GoDaddy hadn't sent me any email notification of this. In fact, days later I haven't received an email for any of the four domains I ordered to transfer away. I find this rather suspect.

I'll stop here except to add that I find that many of the new changes to GoDaddy's control panel do not simplify but instead complicate management of domain renewals (including intrusive "surveys" if you try to cancel a renewal) as well as unlocking domains ahead of transfers-away. The interface is horrendously clunky and, to me, seems more hidden than it was in the past.

Suspicious much? I'd like to hear your opinions and/or experiences.
