I started this thread to see the amount of interest in this niche. Geo domains are the holy grail for local advertising.

What are your thoughts on geo domains?

How do you think they can impact a community and surrounding areas?

Do you own any geo domains and why did you get into this niche?

GEO domains are definately popular & sell for good money. Great for development as well as investment. Wish I had a few nice GEO names.

A pure Geo name (City.com or Country.com) is one of THE most valuable names you can find. USA.com or NewYork.com are worth well above 8 figures, and even non American cities sell for high six figures (Perth.com)

Geo domains are becoming a power house niche in the domain industry. Next year, local online advertising will double to $5 billion.

Media Companys and Businesses are getting the point, and are now understanding how a targetted visitor from a geo domain can impact their business.

There is still alot of opportunity to get into the geo domain niche. You just have to do it smartly.

Owning - and having corresponding local knowledge for their eventual development/content and list of potential paying advertisers - of geo-targeted domains such as xxxxxGuide.com, xxxxxHomes.com, xxxxxJobs.com, xxxxxRestaurants, etc. would be very VERY wise investments for the future IMHO. :gl: :lala:
