Does anyone here wonder about the future of all things cyber. And obviously in turn the future value of domain stock?
I have had a good think about this recently (obviousy with the sole intention of leaping on whatever new bandwagon comes rolling around the corner) and I guess what we must first look it is the hardware of technology itself.
Taking it as read that the global medium that is the internet is here to stay and is set to ever encroach even further into peoples lives I think the biggest changes will first come in the form of: -
1. "The end of the keyboard". So how will this effect us? Well, in the domain world I guess longer DN's will become more popular. For if we are speaking into a browser rather than simply typing would we search for "holdem poker" or would we say "texas holdem poker sites"? The loss of the keyboard would also put pay to the value of short names like ad.com e.g. as noone would search this. And maybe international keywords will become more popular and more widely used. Companies would go back to having their full names rather than an abbreviation of such.
2. Anything connected with television will surely become in great demand. This is because bandwidth and speed will shortly catch up with the speed by which we need to watch television. So anyone holding "streaming televisions" eg might want to hold on to that one.
Anyway, these are MY thoughts, what does everyone else think the future holds..........?
