Maybe for you everything is new, because you are (ahem) new, but for us History keeps repeating itself. We have been seeing the exact same stuff for at least 10 years.

BTW it's not that I don't believe in new extensions, I believe in sales. Why should I believe in new extensions, when the end users don't ? Ponder this for a while.
For you end users will not believe in new gTLDs. I disagree. This is the point.
for me the future will be huge for new gTLDs...:$:
:$::$::$::$::$:
:-D
We think differently. No problem ;)Good luck to you my friend. ;)

think whatever you want, that number comes from a sociologist. not someone who knows actual numbers. anyways, its not the point. the point is registries are the ones who are going to make money from new gtlds, not domainers.
Yes, agree: it's not the point. ;)

Lol.... I promised myself not to get involved in nGTLD conversations/debates anymore. It's a on going tennis match with no end.

Everyone has their opinion. And a market needs both buyers and sellers to be heathy; short sellers and long holders.

I seriously doubt that ngltds are all going to crash and burn. Some will be successful, some will not.

.com and the legacy tlds will probably face some pressure from all the new domains, but are also not going away anytime soon. And a good .com will definately hold its value for the foreseeable future.

This is a fight nobody can win. A fight about an unknown future.

Now, let's talk about something that is much less controversial - the coming US election; there's an argument you can win....

sex.xxx was reported to have sold for a record $3 million. Strangely the .xxx extension then died rather quickly and we don't hear anything about big sales anymore. These early sales don't tell us much about the future potential of an extension.

I guess who ever bought it for $3 million went broke afterwards, the "site" it's just a landing cams page and it's laughably shitty

3$ million for that HAHAHHAHA

sex keyword doesn't worth anything in the porn world, sex, lol
only 6 year old type "sex" for porn on Google

Looks like fake. It is made by the company.

Who knows what might happen ten to fifteen years from now but for now developers and end users generally are very reluctant to pay a premium to a domain investor. They will sometimes pay high $XX to low $XXX to a registry but usually will just add an extra keyword or a hyphen or use an abbreviation or an available TLD (we now have close to a thousand TLDs). In the meantime, I have ten to twelve year old .Net and .TV domains priced $XXX while XYZ and other new TLD holders have the same keyword priced at five figures (Godaddy Auctions).

wine.club sold for $140.000

But did it actually? I don't think so, and many others don't believe it either.

The address goes to a holding page. Do you think that's likely for a domain that sold for $140k?

I don't think those numbers are real. Do you?

Newbies vastly overestimate the demand for aftermarket domains. It's already hard enough to sell good .com. At least don't make life more difficult than it should be.
Talking about the future is good, but it's the present that matters the most. To put it differently: achievements have to take place now, or they never will.

Personally I'm a newbie in this forum but I'm not a newbie in domaining. :) but it's not important.:)
Present or Future??? Depends... Personally I'm a short medium term investor with my dot coms (half portfoglio)and I'm a medium long term investor with my new gTLDs(second half).;)

I'm just showing a nice site, again fashion.fashion which has launched. Great catchy domain, nice site, new g and best of luck to them.

I have nothing to do with this site, or the domain but I like it... ;)

Like the thread says "The future will be good".
