The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Think It was because I copied the link when I opened it from my email? Maybe, I'm not that technical 🙂

    Thanks!

    Weird.
Looks like the ".com" is missing when the url is copy-pasted.
Can someone copy the right link?

I added the .com manually but doesn't work. Maybe the domain banned here?

Yes, when the link is copied and pasted in the post, the ".com" of the domain disappears. Even when editing the post.

https://www.DNAcademy/blog - it is under the blog section

Your right - same for the above

The irony of an article on SEO domains link not working is not lost on me

    EDIT:

Tried manually typing it below to see the results

    www.DNAcademy/blog

    same result

Michael kindly responded to the comment and it looks like @NamePros do not allow links to DN Academy as they see them as a competitor (how they are a competitor is a different subject entirely? I mean really....talk about two completely different business models)

A blog is a free resource, we do not have to pay to read the content and people will be missing out on a lot of good content and free knowledge with this decison......how can you allow people to link to one blog but not another is strange to say the least.......

I thought it would of been mutually beneficial for both parties to be sharing links, information, news etc

Anyway I have said my piece, it would be interesting to get a rep of Namepros take on it......

Maybe it is blocked here cause DNA Academy is a guru crap site that earns money rehashing typical BS articles pointed towards gullible newbies?

    Hello,

We have great admiration for what Michael's built with DNAcademy and its contributions to the domain industry.

Unfortunately, there is a small conflict between it and the rules of NamePros that prevents it from being shared on NamePros. Michael and the management team at NamePros have been in discussions on a way to resolve it, but they haven't reached an agreement yet.

Specifically, DNAcademy has a domain forum, which conflicts with the following rule:

Rule 1.29 (»). Do not advertise, publicize, or promote external domain-related forums or communities on NamePros. This includes linking to pages that directly promote them. The only exception to this rule is local events and meetups that are in person (face to face).

Here's an explanation for why that rule exists:

    Agreed.

Blogs are allowed as long as they do not have a conflict with a different rule: Learn more.

    We hope that helps.

I want to thank NamePros for their comment and for allowing me to clarify the situation -- from my perspective -- by reopening this thread.

Similarly, I am grateful for the contributions that NamePros makes to the community by allowing people to share their views and advice.

    ----------

I simply want to clarify that neither DNAcademy nor I did any advertising, publicity or promotion of our private discussion forum on NamePros, as Rule 1.29 states is not allowed.

From what I understand, it is because DNAcademy offers a private discussion forum to students that somehow Rule 1.29 is being violated. And for that reason, NamePros does not allow any links to DNAcademy. (Please correct me if my understanding is incorrect, @Bravo Mod Team.)

    ----------

DNAcademy's discussion forum is for DNAcademy students only and is geared toward Q&A related to our online, asynchronous learning course. It's a safe place to ask questions about our lessons, tools and resources without fear or looking foolish.

In my personal opinion, I don't believe our private discussion forum violates either the letter or spirit of Rule 1.29, but this is NamePros' community and they are allowed to make any rules and interpret those rules any way they want.

I just didn't want people to think that NamePros was banning links to DNAcademy due to our actions on NamePros as a result of reading Rule 1.29. We respect the community rules of NamePros.

    ----------

Thanks for the opportunity to clarify this from my perspective.
