Think you need a one-word .COM to make money as domain investor? The latest market data tells a different story.

Our analysis of a recent NameBio report (575 sales) uncovers a powerful shift. Domains with 3 or more words ("Longtail") accounted for over 25% of all sales—that's one in every four domains that changed hands!

Forget the hype. The numbers show that specific, intent-rich names like donpedrosfamilymexicanrestaurant.com ($3,550) are driving serious volume and value.

We're sticking strictly to the verified facts in this report. Check out the full breakdown here:

What's your take? We'd love to hear your data-driven perspective.
  • Does this insight influence your approach?
  • Were you aware of the massive volume in the longtail market?
  • Are you surprised by the sales volume of 3+ word domains?
  • Is this trend temporary?

Let's keep the discussion factual and on-topic!

The vast majority of long, trash domains, sell because of SEO reasons. The domain itself doesn't really matter when it comes to that.
...
A trash domain without SEO value is just a trash domain.
And SEO is now dead. So these names are somewhat valuable only based upon if a buyer likes the sound of the name and if it reflects the nature of their business. Not because someone might create a website that comes up in Google Search Results. 1) It's almost impossible to rank now, and most importantly, 2) search is being replaced by AI quickly.

This is exactly why I voted for banning obvious uses of AI, especially when it's used as egregiously as it is here. OP is actively spreading misinformation and no matter how many times his LLM mental gymnastic slop is corrected he just spends a few more seconds to conjure up more of it - it will always take forum members more time to address it than it will for OP to generate it, which makes it a Sisyphean task that I personally wouldn't have the patience for. An LLM will keep hallucinating answers ad infinitum and it doesn't care how illogical and wrong they are, because it has no concept of "wrong" at all. As others have said, this has real consequences for novices, and this forum's mods need to be better at clamping down on this stuff. If OP has problems with English, the best thing for them is to start improving it by getting practice with it, that's what Google Translate is for, but personally I'd prefer reading bad English to more AI bullshit.

Yep.

Brandolini's law (or the bullshit asymmetry principle) is an Internet adage coined in 2013 by Italian programmer Alberto Brandolini. It compares the considerable effort of debunking misinformation to the relative ease of creating it in the first place.

Thanks, exactly what I was aiming for, I knew I'd seen this expressed as a concept somewhere before but couldn't remember the term. There's too many laws at this point, I'm hereby coining Hashim's Law, the law that for any given situation there is a law for it you've heard of but forgotten the name of.

What's really crazy about Brandolini's law though is that it was coined before consumer-facing LLMs, which means that now it's even easier to generate the BS (seconds instead of the minutes/hours to type something up), which means it now probably takes several orders of magnitude to refute it than even Brandolini could have imagined. In terms of misinformation, this next decade is going to make the last one look like a walk in the park.

As more and more AI shit is extruded from the bowels of clueless and defective software, it will likely get closer and closer to what is really written or said by humans. When this happens, people will not be able to easily distinguish between the two and this will inevitably lead to part of the population not trusting anything on the web, TV, movies, radio and anything not in front of them.

..and perhaps there are people waiting for a new situation so they can give it a new law, most likely with their name, because they are not at all vain.

And another part believing whatever, no matter how ridiculous.

I mean, look how many people fall for low effort misinformation and conspiracy theories now. Imagine with a bunch of AI generated content, like photos and videos, on top of that and bots to spread it.

@CashproofDomains.com,

Please use AI responsibly.
I use AI strictly for data analysis and formatting of verified sales data from NameBio. All conclusions are based exclusively on the provided dataset.
I always include clear AI disclosure and data source references.
My goal is factual market discussion, not AI-generated speculation.

I'll ensure my future posts maintain full transparency about methodology while focusing on verifiable industry data. Thank you for your guidance.

Hi

the title is click bait

there is nothing hidden about long tail domains that have value-

looks like OP is just now discovering sales of longer names and trying to make like it’s a new fucking phenomenon

to me, it’s an ongoing bullshit effort, focusing on isolated sales of longer names in attempt to add perceived value to his domains

mods should restrict this misdirection campaign 100%

members shouldn’t have to keep refuting such nonsense to prevent others from being deceived or misled

imo….

I understand the data may be uncomfortable for those heavily invested in short domains. However, questioning the methodology, tone, language or presentation doesn't change the actual sales figures or current market trends.
These are real transactions backed by real buyers. At the end of the day, value speaks for itself — value is God.

Which will lead to what I said in #50. Some people, of course, will choose to partake in the plant substance you refer to (even though plenty already do now) and just withdraw from society.

At the way shit is going on....most people are partaking the magical plant that God's mother nature is giving us for free and anyone can plant one or 2 in their bedroom....it is the magical weed or plant that cures most of our aliments ....and big pharma hates it $$$.

"withdraw from society".... and rejoin the society or community that are likewise...maybe like spouse sharing...aka walking marriage

go google it...walking marriage

I'm not big on taking brain/mind changing substances, but I tried this plant a few years ago for a specific reason and it was the most horrific experience I have ever had. Unimaginable terror and it nearly killed me.
I subsequently read that there are serious effects of this substance for some people, but these aren't talked about hardly at all.
There isn't an amount of money that I can be paid, or assets given to me, to take that stuff again.
Not now, not ever.

Hemp and the seeds are great though.

There are lots of things big pharma, the medical world and the mob don't want people to know.

These days it has become almost a trend that if someone disagrees with something, dislikes data-backed truth, or when something goes against the previously established pattern, they quickly dismiss it by claiming it is AI-generated content.

But the market doesn’t bend to opinions — the numbers are real. In the end, value is God.
