The best way to advertise an Ebay auction?

Hey guys.

I have never sold any domain names on Ebay, yet. I do have an account and have made just under 100 item sales with 100% positive feedback so I decided to give it a go!

I listed my name for sale the other day and it doesn't seem to be getting too much attention. I was wondering if any experienced Ebay domainers have any advertising tips to share?

I was thinking that I could email potential end-users and point them to the auction.
Also there is the external sales board here on NP that I can use.

Those are just a couple examples, is there anything else tht would help me gain more exposure.. that is free? What other domain name forums offer an external sales board?

Contacting people and directing them via emails is a very good technique and should definitely be done. Promoting your auction via Twitter is also a good idea but don't over-do it obviously.

Personally, I've found it helpful to list a number of domains at the same time - spread them to end over a period of 2-3 days. More listings you have the more chances are that one of them will be seen and can help in cross promotion of other items. Make sure to link to your other sales from each listing.

Adding a link to your auction via your sigs on various forums may also help.

I have my listings appear on my blog (demonised.com) using an affiliate script. If you have a blog/website with decent traffic then its worth considering this. Theres a free version of the script which works well. If you find it useful you could upgrade later.
