hi... im new to all the domain game, i have bought 1 domain before for a website i ran and that is about all

i read online that you can buy and sell domains, the best being 3 or 4 letter domains... but since they are hard to come over what would be the next best domains to buy...

also... would this be a good idea,

to buy a domain from say - registerfly...

then park it at sedo - does this cost me anything, whats the deal? for ppl that have already used this please answer...

i know i will get quite good traffic for a new domain name, a couple of thousand in a week or 2, would this be enough to make some good money on a parked domain...

if its parked, will over time thsi domain become worth more... any suggestions please just say...

thanks

For registering domains, don't use Registerfly. Use GoDaddy, Namecheap, iDotz, and a few others. (Those are the ones I like. :))

Parking at Sedo is free.

How do you know you will get a couple thousand hits in a week on a new domain??

If it's parked and making revenue, it will make it worth more.

CTR in parked domains is not as high as normal (developed) domains have

This is because many people know the templates and simply skip the page

If you read this forum you will see many people discussing about templates

Also keep in mind that parking sites don't like links from other sites or ads to the parked site. Only type in traffic is good for them

I would personally buy domains already owned instead of just registering and hoping to sell them. If you buy a name for around $100-200 and get alot of interest from it, you can easily sell it for more then that. Although if you do register one for $7 and find a really interested buying you can sell it for more. Best of luck to you.

For registering domains i recommend using godaddy.

If it's parked and making revenue, it will make it worth more.

I would personally use namecheap or godaddy :)

I would also recommend parking it with SEDO if you are not using it for a developed website.

I would buy .com's from godaddy for $6.95 (.com, .net and .org) and .info's from dotster.com for $2.99.

Good Luck, I am still waiting for my first sale and I own about 260 domains.

I prefer getting .info from my own Directi account because its really cheap that way. Otherwise, domainsite is a good bet.
