Shew, forgot MilitaryHistory.net was sitting over at dotster. It had apparently expired some time ago. Just about lost it!!! Fortunately, it had not quite gone into redemption yet.

I -really- need to do a better job at keeping track of my domains, I have them scattered over half a dozen registrars.

Is it too early for a new year's resolution?!

Not a name to drop! Excel is your friend...

Heh, that is exactly what I am working on right now, updating an excel sheet listing all my domains, the registrar, creation and expiration date.

Whatever happened to the renewal notices? In any case, just renew-transfer your domains to a registrar of your choice.

Be sure to turn on the auto-renew option :)

A year or two ago I turned auto renew off on all of my domains, so I could control when they dinged my account. However, that turned out to be a really, really BAD idea! I do not recall getting any notices, either, so I need to see which email address they have.

The notices probably went into your spam folder.

Yeah, consolidation helps, but may registrys do not have the option to list domains by renewal date - indeed Whiz.in is the only one I can think of at the moment that does. So you still have to keep up with it.

I use excel.

It's my bestest friend in the whole wide world. (Ok, maybe not the top one)

This does you No Good, if the CC you have on file expires... Like they do every 1-2 years... I just had a customer find that out the hard way :)

She "did" have it on Auto-Renew, but the CC she had on file, had expired, when she got the renewal email, she thought she was good to go, but the email never mentioned the CC was Expired, because at that time, the CC was not run (denied due to expired). When they went to renew it, the CC failed and I am not sure if they sent another email or not.

Long story short, Auto-Renew doesn't solve everything!

We have a free tool at Rebel.com that some of you might want to check out. It tracks your domains for you regardless of what registrar you are using. It will show you which registrar has the name, when it expires and what the dns is set to.

It won't cost you anything to create an account or use the DomainMerge tool. thought i'd let you know about it as it sounds like something some of you may be interested in. hope this isn't taken as self promo just honestly thought this would be helpful.
