Hi, I was wandering about tense in a domain and how people view it. Is it better to use past, present or future tense for a domain? For example, which do you think would work best:

Newspublisher.com
Newspublished.com
Newspublishing.com

- Thats just a random example that came to mind. What do you think?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

well, they have different uses, so different end users. the ones with the biggest revenue and lowest availability are probably worth the most.

Newspublisher.com
could be a site for a news company, but they'd probably have their own branded site name (and news limited would sue the heck out of them if they had this one).
could be a site for RSS software, etc

Newspublished.com
uh, i don't really get this one, so lowest for me.

Newspublishing.com
hm, maybe in between - perhaps ditto newspublisher.

so i guess you have to think of the end user in each case, and not make a general tense rule

I would agree and chose publisher as having the best sale ability. The other ones seem to not read well when thinking about a website. Newspublished seems out-dated, and old.

Newspublisher.com is the best

Newspublished.com doesn't make sense

Newspublishing.com, ok as well

To show that there is no hard and fast rule ---
One often quoted rule is to buy the root term, minus prefixes and endings. In this case NewsPublish is worse than any of the above examples. Agree with the above ranking but look:
PublishedNews > PublishingNews > PublisherNews
