Template Advice

I'm completely new to web design, but I am seemingly learning at a rapid pace! (i think)...I'd like to purchase a template or dl a free one, but Im haing trouble understanding what exactly comes with the template...is it simply designed to act as the template for each page within your web site? does it come as code which you can alter or as a high resolution image? please help asap!

Its comes with the photoshop source file, a coded home page and subpages(source and code) as well. You can alter that code as well.

Thats considering you buy the template, I don't know about free ones. Also if you bought one there should be a page that explains what you are getting or simply call support.

Generally, a webpage template is HTML code with a bunch of images. With a template package, you often get a .PSD file (a photoshop file) with the layout, from which you can slice it and generate the HTML and images.

I suggest you download some free templates first and work your way around. Way back when I just started learning HTML, I deconstructed templates and that's how I learned.

Most are not coded, at least the free ones. They give you a psd which you have to slice and turn into a website. If you need help coding it PM me and I can give it a shot.
