.mobi .TEL and .MOBI

I heard a .tel sunrise period will begin in the end of the year.

Is someone can give thoughs about complementariness or opposition between .tel and .mobi.

no. .com and .net both do the exact same thing. .mobi and .tel dont do the same thing as each other or anything else. its like .com and .net are both apples and .mobi is an orange and .tel is a banana, lol.

Yes of course .. but if .tel is only a business card listing that would make it more like a raisin hehe i know the extention doesnt support very many

tags . No gifs or jpegs or mp3 haaaaaaaaa but i did happen to note that it does support the <a href="wtai://wp/mc; (phone link) tag which IMO gives this extention tremendous value

.tel will go no where IMO. There is no use for it. You can't compare it to .mobi - Let me know of all the backers of .tel and its promotion machine, and then we can compare.

I still like the idea behind it, it will redirect the visitor to your preferred contact method/software, something like Protocol1:yourname.tel Protocol2:yourname.tel and so on..

IMHO .tel can only make .mobi shine. I havent read all of these posts, and don't have that much knowledge of .tel, but I know some and learning as I go on. (If I am wrong, please correct me).

To me, .Tel is just another name out there to be an alternative to .com Even though I know its about contact and not websites ect.... (it's a simplified way to reach a company as so I am learning and reading about it....) But can a "dot.com, dot.net ect..." find the contact information about a particualr company "or is it just (.tel) that can reach a contact ect..." and also, can a cell phone reach a contact....? To me this is so unecessary, it could be usefull though, but thats what people said about .mobi IMHO

One of these days, people are gona be confused of all of these new extentsions out there! But I will admit, that I am a .mobi supporter, becuse I do believe that it is totaly different and serves a great purpose for the enduser!




Also, I just had a brainwave, I think .tel should only be for tradmark holders and professional firms, since that is really the only reason why somone would type in a .tel, to access it. It should be limited only to corporations, And then I could see a use for it. I also can see that people may reg it to be an alternative to .mobi, but.......

It seems like it is riding on the coatails of.mobis success (or potential for success) I just find it confusing, and more of a profit making venture than anything else. But what if .mobi is the .com of mobile devices, and .tel is trying to circumvent there way in as the runner up, almost like the net is to a .com?

Speculators will always invest in the lll and keywords, so they are bound to make a nice chunk of change. But to the investor, or speculator..is it a good investment. This one dosent ring true like .mobi does. Unless I get a juicy keyword...I will pass.
