I found out an pending renewal or deletion domain at Godaddy, So my question is do i have to backorder it first so that i can bid at Tdnam or the domain will open to public bidding at Tdnam?

The domain expired on 2/1/2007

It will open to public at TDNAM.

But it may be renewed by ex-owner even you have won the domain @ TDNAM.

If it expired on Feb1 - It should be on TDNAM now or within the next day or so. No need to backorder, but be patient. Dont place a bid on the domain name until a few minutes before the end of auction. If you place a bid on it now, you will "highlight" the domain name for other domainers and you will pay more for it then you should have to! Also, if its kind of obscure, you may want to let it lapse on the auction block.

When a domain goes through auction and isnt picked up, TDNAM relists it as a Buy It Now option for $5 + 1 Year Renewal. So you save 10 dollars, this is as long as no one bids. Dont forget though, original owners still have redemption options on domain names while their at TDNAM. Just cause you bid and win, doesnt mean you will get it. (although, Ive only had that happen once!)

Very true, this method works best at TDnam.

Thanks guys, your replies are very helpful and much appreciated. But then what is backorder for? The domain i spotted can't be backordered but i see other domains are available for backordering.

If GoDaddy doesnt allow a backorder, it means someone else in the system alreayd backordered it (they only allow 1 backorder!) Now, this is irrelevant, because all domains go to TDNAM.

So, youll find that the domain name at TDNAM, should already have a bid (the backorder will act as the first bid).

Backorders at GoDaddy for Godaddy/WildWestDomains/BlueRazor domains are useless, just go to TDNAM. thats where you'll find em.
