If it's a dot com, you'll also pay the standard renewal fee (about $10.00), BUT if you come to this site, you can find GoDaddy coupons which will work for TDNAM.

You won't get a full year, however; the expiration date will be the one year anniversary of the last expiration date, so in truth, you'll be getting about 10 months and not a full year. Be sure to keep that in mind as you bid on aftermarket names and make sure that's it's a domain worth snagging.

Good luck!

But if it's a BIN, and OP really wants it, he/she should grab it.

Once it's gone, it's gone.

However, Takwa's advice is good if OP is just lukewarm about the domain.

I used to do that quite frequently for domains and picked up some at $5 firesale. However, I learned the hard way that TDNAM doesn't always send names to $5 BIN anymore. Several I missed at the last minute, no bids on them, I waited for them to show up in the $5 BIN. Never appeared, and a few days later they have a new owner (not the original owner because I checked before the auction deadline). The new owner appears to be GoDaddy or a subsidiary. Timely lesson with the DomainNameWire.com article on GoDaddy and expiring domains...
